Re: what else can I do???
We normally recommend more pressure for hypopneas and obstructive apneas. More pressure will not help central apneas and may make them worse for a small percentage of the people. When "y'all" say "more pressure" if you are having hypops and OSA's, do you mean raise the lower pressure setting or rai...

Re: Mouth tape leak or mask leak?
Somniloquy! I learned a new word today. I’m glad you’ve found a tape solution that works for you. My brief consultation with Dr. Google suggests that in time, your apnea treatment may also address your ... somniloquy. Unfortunately that stopped working too. Going to try Mike's suggestion next...

Re: Mouth tape leak or mask leak?
I have tried a lot of tapes and haven't found one that will take me through the night. Me too. That 3M tape wasn't sticky enough for my face, I finally arrived in "Fixomull stretch" made by BSN. Works like a charm for me. It is a bit more sticky an a lot more flexible. Mike Hi Mike: I am just now s...

Re: Bleep/DreamPort nasal mask review thread
I sorted it out last night, but did still notice significant noise on inhale. I sent Bleep a recording to confirm if that's expected. I'll try the silicon tape. Stuart confirmed the noise wasn't unexpected (so don't expect "silence"), but he suggested making sure the diffuser is tight against the v...

Re: Mouth tape leak or mask leak?
I have tried a lot of tapes and haven't found one that will take me through the night. Do you clean the areas of your face where the mouth tape touches your skin? I'd been using alcohol to clean where the dreamports stick. And one day it hit me that maybe I ought to do the same for the mouth tape. ...

Re: Mouth tape leak or mask leak?
Hi bjhunt01, have you tried Somnifix? I rely on it, and it almost never lets me down. The adhesive is very easy on the skin. The drawback is cost, but you might give it a try and see if you think it's worth it. Hi Miss Emerita! Yes I have tried it and I blow it right off. I did like how it felt. I ...

Re: Mouth tape leak or mask leak?
If the Bleep is leaking because something isn't attached properly then most likely the leak would be consistent throughout the night. Otherwise if you are seeing times in leak and other times no leak then mouth opening leak would be my first suspect. There's no real way to tell the difference thoug...

Re: Breathing air and mask types
For me whenever I've tried to use a full face mask, since I'm a mouth breather, my mouth falls open and I am sucking in a lot of air through my mouth and burping and f***ing with a big belly the next day. Taping my mouth like crazy and using the Bleep or a nasal mask has helped me. Don't know if tha...

Re: Totally confused because I have low apneas but still suffering
I'm thinking that you may not be getting restful sleep and having a lot of little wakeups. When you post your charts, we might be able to see that or something else that could be helpful to you.

Mouth tape leak or mask leak?
Hello all: I'm using the Bleep and assume that it should have no leaks. I test it to be sure. But my Sleepyhead shows leaks. I have good numbers - AHI below 5. I have to tape my mouth - the bane of my existence as I talk in my sleep. Sometimes the tape is loose as I'm waking up in the morning, But w...

Re: Bleep/DreamPort nasal mask review thread
You put the silicone tape inside that joint, like plumbers do? Yes , like a plumber. Uninstal vent swivel, put the teflon tape around the vent connector and then install vent swivel and that's it. And yes, the mask doing more noise when inhalation goes on. Is this what you all are recommending re: ...

Zonker: I am reading this thread as I'm struggling with the bubbles too and tape that keeps coming loose as I bubble for awhile. What is the "soft" mode and how do I find it? Thanks. Barbara Soft mode is a gentler increase in pressure. The option is not available in APAP for Her mode. To access: Go...

Re: djam's therapy thread
Yep... Zonker, check out aerophagia on this forum. That's the mini belches you talk about. For me, it happens at any pressure over 12 cm H20. So I keep my max pressure there. For the S9, I also put my EPR at 3 so that it would further alleviate aerophagia. Have you got your EPR dialed in for your n...

Re: 12 Year old study claims "Mild OSA should not be treated." Thoughts?
It isn't a research double-blind, etc. study, it's a review of other studies. It IS 12 years old so I'd suggest going to Pub Med and looking for more recent publications of actual research. Good luck. PS: Guess a bottom line also is how is mild OSA affecting a patient, their quality of life, fatigue...
