Re: Lowering AHI numbers with beetroot capsules

Dog, I'll try this one last time and maybe you can get it through thick skull. I am emphatically not claiming beet root is the reason I have great improvement in my CPAP success. I saw immediate improvement when I started using Resmed. I have posted here before that on the third day I used the Resm...

Re: Lowering AHI numbers with beetroot capsules

I need to point out that nitrates are substances added to cured meat that are said to be carcinogenic. I'm curious if anyone here has found a similar AHI lowering effect with salami or bacon? And here I thought it was just a vegetable? lol supplements carcinogenic? Inorganic Nitrate and OSA Acute B...

Re: Lowering AHI numbers with beetroot capsules

Just for kicks I started taking beet root Nov. 12. After a week or so, my AHI was down to about half what it was, and very steady. It was already low on CPAP, maybe 1 per hour, now maybe 1 every two hours. No weight loss... probably some holiday gain, in fact. I'm taking 1500mg twice daily. Thanks ...

Re: Lowering AHI numbers with beetroot capsules

I know this sounds crazy. But I have had great AHI numbers for the past 3 weeks because I started taking beet root capsules before bed. I am averaging 0.9 the past ten days. That’s crazy low (kinda) for me I was averaging over 3 + nightly. This is no scientific experiment by any means. Maybe someon...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Upon seeing several cpap ambulance chaser ads, I can't help thinking that Respironics might be counting on kickbacks from the shylocks. It is all becoming clearer and clearer . . . There was a time when I wondered if I was being overly picky about favoring Resmed. I suppose not. Who are the shylocks?

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Update! The dreamstation 1 machine that I’ve now modified is working just fine. Though I had to lower my sleep settings 5 (pts) from a maximum of 25 to 20. To compensate for the additional air flow due to the removal of the dreaded foam. My numbers were at about what I usually average. 2.0 to 2.7 th...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Oh yeah and Phillips didn’t have the courtesy to email me about this BIG MATTER even though they had my email because I signed up for the dreamstation app. I found out about this like 5 days ago. Wtf this has been common knowledge since June 15? Phillips doesn’t care about us. I paid my machine off ...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Also I’d like to mention that when I made the original mistake I tried doing crap I should’ve never done without taking a picture or at least writing these numbers down! But I was so frustrated b3cause my machine is my life . Just like all of yours right? And I just thought I could try to move numbe...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Please let me clarify what happened. When my friend and I first took the machine apart apparently we put this sm White tube in upside down. And the reason for the choo choo train as I called it was do to this error. It sent the blower air or maybe screwed up a sensor on the machine. We originally th...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

I am going to remove my foam today, only thing I wonder about is was this foam intended to reduce noise or does it act as a filter also? I know I have a fliter that I change, but does this foam filter as well? will I be reducing the flitering of the air by removing it? My insurance provider BC/BS t...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Ok so I went into my dreamstation 1 bi/pap . I removed the foam like the Australian bloke in his video. Put it back together and the machine went into choo choo train mode . Meaning i couldn’t even keep my mask on. My usual settings are 17 in 15 out. I thought it would just stay at the same level b...
