Re: 6 mo. BiPAP user switched to ASV

I appreciate your honesty about your morning routine. I occasionally have those mornings too. But it sounds like yours is every day and mine is just once in a while. Really hoping the improvement is real and lasting for you! Thanks, I really hope it helps. I'm about out of options. If a continual s...

6 mo. BiPAP user switched to ASV

Hello everyone, It's been a few months since I visited the forum. Hope everyone is doing well :) After buying a new home, dealing with an ending lease and subsequently a new one, things have been busy as you could imagine. I finally found time to get into the lab for my scheduled sleep study (after ...

Re: New CPAP User, Long time sufferer...

Interesting... my current pressure settings are making it hard to keep the pressure from escaping through my lips during the night. I thought I could tighten the strap a little but the velcro seems to have fused. I can't pull it apart without fear of damaging it. I'm sleeping in a new place tonight....

Re: New CPAP User, Long time sufferer...

Seems like that setup would put a lot of pressure on your mouth, is that black part a chin support?

Re: New CPAP User, Long time sufferer...

Are you using any BiFlex exhale relief? I think maybe you are and that explains the EPAP variations. No big deal. Yes, the BiFlex is set to a value of 2. Kind of weird actually - I thought it was on all this time, but after changing the mode to fixed, i reviewed the other settings and noticed that ...

Re: New CPAP User, Long time sufferer...

Good morning everyone. So, I did as I said I would. I turned off the auto setting and fixed the pressures at EPAP 11cm and IPAP 14cm. The only other change was that I slept longer that usual (went to bed early, was super tired). After one night on these settings, I didn't have any air leaking throug...

Re: New CPAP User, Long time sufferer...

Haha, well at least I know I'm not alone. Last night was the first time I noticed it. We'll see what kind of crazy new reactions take place tonight :P

Re: New CPAP User, Long time sufferer...

I will probably place my order for the 'soft and cushy' frame wrap at padacheek.com today. Thanks for stopping by djams. You are probably right about the apneas. The only thing that makes me want to try it is the air leaking from my mouth. This hasn't been a problem since I got the chin strap. Until...

Re: New CPAP User, Long time sufferer...

I definitely have problems with face dents. Sometimes I can still see them by noon. They don't last as long I've noticed with the nasal mask though. When my pressures were lower, I kept the mask just tight enough to prevent leaks, which on that style of mask was pretty easy. Now that's I've tightene...

Re: New CPAP User, Long time sufferer...

Hey zonker, Yeah - I've actually been reading about people using the foam collars. The chin strap I have right now is so minimal and non-invasive. That being said, if slightly tightening it doesn't help, I'll start looking at other options, including the foam collar. Maybe I need to look at some pic...

Re: New CPAP User, Long time sufferer...

The one at padacheek.com looks pretty good. My only worry is that it would make the mask fit funny. But if you recommend them, I'm sure they're good.

Wonder if they give cpaptalk.com members a discount!

Re: New CPAP User, Long time sufferer...

Wait..... the what now? As of right now, the silicone frame lays directly against my face, if there is something that makes it better, fill me in! lol In truth, I don't find the silicone frame against my face to bother me at all, other than the dry skin I'm starting to notice. I figured it was do to...

Re: New CPAP User, Long time sufferer...

Another day another chart... Slept better last night, not great but it was better. Tightened my mask a little, I think I had less air leaks that woke me up. I have began to notice two things, sometimes even with my chinstrap I end up opening my mouth and air escapes, this wakes me up. If not for tha...
