Re: Having problems with tear duct!
Thanks so much Pugsy for your reply. I figured the mask was cheaper and quicker than finding a real doctor in these parts :-) Do you know if a Sinus CT scan would show those sorts of issues? I went to an ENT when the sinus issues began and next step was to go to the CT. I put it off because the sinu...

Having problems with tear duct!
Hi All, I'm experiencing a red, inflamed, puffy side of the eye and below where it meets the nose. Looking online it seems to match up with tear duct inflammation. I've had it a few months before but it went away fairly quickly. This time I woke up and instead of going away the eye was all puffy as ...

Flow limitation increased with raising pressure?
Hi all, a rather basic question. I am looking at a friend's data in sleepyhead. It's a Dreamstation Auto-CPAP. I'm looking at the statistics screen in SH and it shows the FL at different pressure settings. 5 days at 11->12 APAP mode 0.14FL 13 days at 11.5->12.0 APAP mode 0.22FL 9 days at 12->12 APAP...

Re: CPAP machine hit or miss....?

What overall pressure settings would one reccomend with use of the epr? I recommend whatever works for you... Experiment to find out what feels b...

Re: Am I not understanding sleepyhead or a bipap machine settings?
I was hoping your 2nd chart would have more data. My concern is that the chart is showing a median tidal volume of 840, this is very high. If you look at other charts few would be above 600. Can you post all your settings. I'm wondering if the min breath length is set too high. The fixed PS 7 may a...

Pugsy and Palerider, I really appreciate your input, thank you so much.
Pugsy, I will try those settings tonight and report back. I love a good experiment. Thank you again!

Re: Am I not understanding sleepyhead or a bipap machine settings?
What do they mean about what you should set your machine to?... nothing . Pugsy's 95% number is, or has been, somewhere around 18, but she does great with her minimum at around 7, because she only needs that high pressure when she's in REM. That is very interesting. I will read it right now. Still ...

Re: Am I not understanding sleepyhead or a bipap machine settings?
90 % numbers aren't necessarily what you should be using for fixed numbers. It's it NOT where you were at for 90% of the night...people think this but it isn't. 90/95 % number are where we were AT OR BELOW for 90/95% of the night...people don't often know about the "or below" part of the definition...

Re: Am I not understanding sleepyhead or a bipap machine settings?
I actually don't like to advise using PS over say 6...too much PS can cause problems unless the person has some specific ventilation needs for some reason. My own personal preference for PS...4 or 5 to start with. If you don't have issues with your lungs or problems breathing for some reason...I wo...

Re: Am I not understanding sleepyhead or a bipap machine settings?
Huh, that's interesting, didn't know there was a new version. Same thing though. i actually set the EPAP pressure down to 9 to try to get it around where I want it at 11->11.5. I've been relying on this data for a while so I went from auto Bipap to using the statistics in SH to select 11 and 18. Now...

Am I not understanding sleepyhead or a bipap machine settings?
Hi All, I'm trying to understand my settings on the Dreamstation AutoBipap on basic Fixed BIPAP mode. Sorry for not setting up all the graphs the right way but I just want you to notice the "Fixed Bi-Level" and EPAP 11, IPAP 18, then notice the pressure graph. I am not getting it. The IPAP line is s...

Re: OT - diabetes diet
I second or third or fourth Dr. Fung, and also how he intertwines with Dr Panda at the Salk institute about eating windows. Most diets are about what to eat and we've been following these religiously for years and getting fatter and fatter. Rarely do people talk about WHEN to eat which Dr Panda has ...
