Re: New Here And Need Support

I will start with rainout. Turning the heated hose temp up will help. Turning the humidity setting down will help. Adding a hose cover to insulate the tube will help. Avoiding having a/c blowing across the hose will help. If you still have issues, keeping the cpap lower helps as you describe. Increa...

Re: So I guess I have OSA - what happens next?

Interesting notes, thank you! As far as the full-face mask versus one just for your nose, is that basically trial and error on our end in purchasing a mask, checking the stats for a while, and then buying something else if the original isn't working well for you? Masks are a bit of a journey. For m...

Re: trying masks

Are using a chin strap with a ff mask?

I do get red marks after wearing. Not certain when they begin to appear.

Re: Bi-level: Aircurve 10 Vauto vs Dreamstation Auto Bipap

That is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. It would be helpful to know if you had the same settings on both machines or tried to adjust the settings on the dreamweaver to see if you could make it work better.... And what you mean by fighting (e.g. could not breath out, or could not take a...

Re: Bi-level: Aircurve 10 Vauto vs Dreamstation Auto Bipap

Thanks, I was hoping for some answers like... I used model X and I had these problems, I switched to the other model and it worked fine. Time for a new machine (auto, bi-level) and had been using the S9. They wanted me to try the DS. I was game. There were a few things I liked off the bat -- the hu...

Re: how to clean water chamber

I haven't seen anyone else mention this because it does kind of waste water but it also works. Start with a new tank that doesn't have the film on it. Dump the water in the morning let your container dry all day then fill it with new water each night. If you don't fill your tank real full your not ...

Re: New CPAP user issues

Hi, there hoping you all can help! I am new to using my CPAP which is a Philips Dream Machine. Problem is I have been grinding and clenching my teeth for years. I wake up with pain from it most mornings. The CPAP doesn't seem to be resolving that. I've also tried to use a Sleep Apnea mouthguard to ...

Re: Excess Carbon dioxide in the mask?

If anyone is using an Resmed Airfit F20 or AirTouch F20 mask and can document that the siphon vent flaps are cycling open and closed while in use, could you report that here to this conversation along with the pressure setting your CPAP is operating at? Thnx DB I have used the AirTouch F20 for almo...

Re: Want to buy a used BiPAP

I haven't been active on here in quite a while once I got my ASV sorted out, couldn't remember if there was a classifieds and don't see one. We just went through massive furloughs and lay offs, and a friend at work just lost her job and insurance. We got her a cpap that's helping, but she really ne...

Re: Where can I order mirage activa mask/headgear without a prescription?

Typically, headgear is the straps (plus buckle ends). The frame is the thing that holds the cushion (and that the headgear attaches to). The cushion (typically but not always comprised partly of silicone) also attaches to the frame and rests against your face. There, naturally, exceptions to these r...

Re: Where can I order mirage activa mask/headgear without a prescription?

I cant find it anywhere and my prescription has lapsed. The only places I could find it to buy were asking for a prescription. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Buy it as parts (a complete mask requires a script). Mask frame. Cushion. Head gear. No script required. CPAP.Com appears to have the...

Re: Mild Sleep Apnea?

My overseas insurance company is saying I hid my medical condition so they won't pay my 10K medical bill I accumulated recently. My argument is that I did send them an email after taking policy that I have mild sleep apnea and got a service ticket for it. but they did not do anything. no further em...

Re: Covid-19 CPAP Heated Tubing Temp

There has been a lot of recent articles about the temp Covid 19 flourishes. 50-80 deg Fahrenheit. I just turned up my Resmed S10 to 86 degrees last night. I’m on day 12 of dealing with the virus and sometimes feel it’ll never end. Using heat packs and hot bathes are great as well, but we have this ...
