Re: Better sleep but less sleep since APAP
That's rather ludicrous. It may make YOU question why there's the ability to have separate threads about different people, but you're the only one. I kept things polite. You go and write I've made a ludicrous statement. Classy. I deal with SEVERAL very, very technical fora all the time and never, e...

Re: Better sleep but less sleep since APAP
Well, I never said they were not related. In fact I'm sure they are. Nevertheless, lumping everything together rather than organizing into discrete, topic-specific threads makes no sense to me. And whereas I am new here, I'm certainly not new to user fora such as this. This is the only one I've ever...

Re: Appetite decrease because of APAP?
Thanks all!
Someone told that not getting enough sleep also kinda of leaves your body "stressed" all the time and that this causes a hormone called cortisol to be released which in turn helps to cause hunger.
You guys ever heard of that and/or think it is valid?
Thx

Re: Better sleep but less sleep since APAP
Hi, Of course I want folks to help me, that's why I'm here. I really don't see how mixing disparate issues together really helps in that, however. In fact, I think it makes it worse. A doctor's "chart" is actually subdivided. Test results, diagnosis, medicines you take etc. are not all jumbled toget...

Re: Better sleep but less sleep since APAP
Hi, Thanks. The reason I created separate threads for them was because I view them as rather different topics, appetite vs. decreasing sleep time. My only other post, which was my first, was rather more general in nature which is why I did not continue there with these specific topics. I can post in...

Re: Better sleep but less sleep since APAP
Hi,
Previously I was not using anything for my sleep apnea (severe OSA) but I finally bit the bullet and started using an APAP.
Thx

Better sleep but less sleep since APAP
Hi, I've recently started using an APAP and I've noticed two things: 1. the quality of my sleep is definitely better. Daytime drowsiness has pretty much disappeared 2. the amount of time I sleep has drastically decreased Previously, I could sleep 8 hours and still be tired during the day. The most I...

Appetite decrease because of APAP?
Hi,
I've recently started using an APAP and I've noticed my appetite and cravings seem to have disappeared.
Now maybe that is just coincidental but I would be interested to know if others here have experienced something similar.
Thank you!

Re: New APAP user with questions
Thanks everyone for replying! Great community! So, last night I decided to wear the DW full mask. Contrary to what I thought, my wife says my mouth is open a lot when I sleep. Strangely enough, it was not so bad once I got used to it. I uploaded the data from the APAP to the Phillips app on my phone...

Re: New APAP user with questions
Thanks for the reply and the welcome to the forum! I am using the ramp option but the nasal mask was so uncomfortable due to the exhale issue I was never able to really get to a therapeutic pressure. The APAP I was told will adjust to the proper pressure setting for me so no titration study was done...

New APAP user with questions
Hi, I just recently purchased a Phillips Dreamstation APAP and a Dreanwear Nasal mask with gell cushions. I tried and just could not get used to how difficult it was to exhale. It kept feeling like I could only exhale about 80% of what I wanted to. I adjusted the Flex setting to 3 and it helped slig...
