Re: CPAP Nightmare
The difference between the billed and contracted amount appears to be only a couple hundred dollars a pop (that would be the “plan discount”). The provider has pocketed $4334 from insurance thus far, and I’m on the hook for around $1600 after that. The numbers themselves are a mess, since they’ve su...

Re: CPAP Nightmare
To be clear, I don’t have concerns about how my insurance is covering this. My portion is my deductible, plus 20% of what’s left after that. Based on the available figures, that’s been done correctly. The problem is this godawful equipment provider charging over $2000 a month for their “rental” fee....

CPAP Nightmare
Hello All, I’m hoping to get an idea of other people’s experiences so I can get a feel for what’s normal. My upfront experience of getting a CPAP machine has been so horrible—filled with rude providers, billing “errors,” and overall extreme incompetence—that I’ve long since relegated my machine to g...

Re: Low Oxygen Levels on CPAP
OK, charts, charts, charts! I don't know what information is needed, so here is all the stuff. (Most of the stats are from Sunday night instead of last night, because I had the mask on for a good long time and thus had more data) _________________ Machine: Philips Respironics DreamStation Auto CPAP ...

Alright. I already have the software, so I’ll work on uploading some data this evening.

Re: Low Oxygen Levels on CPAP
I can post some charts later, but of course Sleepyhead won’t show the oxygen levels, which I believe are the key data point at this stage. But if that would be helpful 🤷🏻♀️ Unfortunately I’m not really working with a PCP at this point. Made some attempts but my primary doctor refused to take my con...

Re: Low Oxygen Levels on CPAP
Update: I went back in to the doctor’s office, and the staff went out of their way to make me feel insane and ridiculous. Nurse actually said, “You just got your machine. Why are you here?” After I overheard them talking about me in the hall, “It doesn’t give oxygen,” as though I don’t understand ho...

Re: Low Oxygen Levels on CPAP
-LSAT, agreed. I requested to do a mask exchange and got a nasal pillow mask that I hope will work better for me. -Pugsy, you’re correct, I wasn’t seeing it. Thanks for the information. -Mogy, I appreciate the response. I guess what I was wondering in my initial question was whether low oxygen despi...

Re: Low Oxygen Levels on CPAP
All, I really appreciate the replies. I’ll try to answer the questions. Raisedfist, the max pressure both nights was 15, and the 90% pressure was 9.6/8.5. What is the Sleepyhead app? All I could find was an app for Apple Watch. I currently use a Garmin to track sleep but I don’t know what kind of da...

Low Oxygen Levels on CPAP
Hi All, Recently diagnosed with OSA and started my CPAP just a couple of days ago. I still feel horrible. I know it will take time to adjust, but I’m still recording very low oxygen levels during the night. Isn’t that the whole point of the machine? My AHI isn’t that high—7 during the sleep study, 5...
