Re: Nose swelling after 3 months
It seems like it's irritating it where the pillows contact the opening, not really the tips. I've been using the same pillows since I started, never had any issues until recently. I took the day off from sleeping properly to let my nose heal, last night wasn't as bad. I actually have a scab inside t...

Nose swelling after 3 months
Hey there, I've been using the machine for about 3 months now with no prior issues with fitment on my nasal pillows.... Recently though my nose is swelling up and getting red/agitated where the pillows make contact. It's getting to be pretty painful, and embarrassing (it dries out and make me looks ...

Re: Too many Clear Airway apneas
My issue with Aerophagia was just due to not being able to breathe against the machine. Going to 3 EPR got rid of the aerophagia completely, but caused more recorded centrals. Lowering it to 1 got rid of the Centrals but caused more Aerophagia. I run it at 2 now, and force myself to sleep on my side...

Re: Newbie Self Diagnosis - In Denial - AHI Question
Those CA clusters (both of the big ones) last for about 30minutes and right before you wake up. Maybe one of those more experienced guys here can help you zoom in on your breathing patterns and determine if you were moving around/getting uncomfortable and those CA's are false? And how do you feel? (...

Re: Advice for next path
So I decided to update a little early here. The low AHI was an abnormal night apparently- Since then I've averaged 4-5 AHI with nearly all of them CA (graphs are all similar to the first I posted on the new machine at 5.47 AHI). Still no noticeable aerophagia, been using these settings for 12 days n...

Re: What mattress do you use
My wife and I love our Bear mattress. It's too firm for her, and just a tad too firm for me when cold, but it solved my back pain problems real quick. Even she loves it now that she's used to it. It's marketed towards athletic people for "muscle recovery" with some voodoo infrared conversion stuff w...

Re: Cigarette smell in 2nd hand ResMed Airsense 10
I just bought a used one that had some cigarette smell in it- same as you, I'm a non smoker and it was irritating. I put a few drops of vinegar on the filter, and a small tray of vinegar right next to the inlet(the whole machine kinda hidden in a corner so it ONLY pulled air from directly over the t...

Re: Advice for next path
Been busy and away from home for a few days, was messing with settings anyways. 8 minimum with 2 EPR, good but still some centrals 8minimum with 1 EPR, way too much aerophagia 7.6 minimum with 2 EPR, MONEY. September 9th sleepy head.jpg Getting a little rainout so I'm gonna run with these settings a...

Re: Any Suggestions on a new mask for me?
I really like the swift fx, but its the only mask I've ever used.....as a newbie to cpap its been easy to get used to, and for the most part I start sleep on my side and it stays pretty secure. I havent had any leak issues. I use a chin strap with the swift over it, looser than I thought I needed an...

Re: COPD, a common cold and my CPAP
I'd imagine increasing humidity would decrease irritation from the "breeze". Similar to breathing dry hot hair in the desert (where I live) and traveling to a beach/humid area....the difference in feeling on the throat/lungs is insane. Also cough drops/Nyquil like the others recommended. The drops a...

Re: Advice for next path
I lowered to 8cm and 2 EPR last night, I *feel* better than wednesday night. No graph until this afternoon, will update then. As for Wednesday night- I actually don't remember waking up, but I'm a pretty restless sleeper according to my wife. Honestly not sure if that's changed since getting the hos...

Re: Advice for next path
Both Tuesday and Wednesday night are almost identical, not gonna post them both. I did remember to stop/start the machine when I woke up....I don't recall waking up in the middle of the night, but my resp rates do look similar to my awake breathing there, if anyone is interested. Here's last nights....

Re: Advice for next path
The response to Yolo was even better than I thought hahaha. I don't have anything funny to add :( Unfortunately my PC doesn't have an SD card slot, so no data transfer tonight. Ill put the settings at 9-20 2epr and see what happens and grab an adapter tomorrow. I also rechecked the readout real quic...

Re: Advice for next path
Quick update without a graph: Last night was the first with the new machine, Set at a YOLO 9-20 with 3 EPR. Initial impression- HUGE improvement over the Icon. EPR is awesome. No Aerophagia and actually comfortable to breathe. AHI- 5.8, and unless I saw it wrong in my AM rush it had Centrals labeled...
