Re: Leaks vs Low ahi and good sleep
If there is a Holy Grail to cpap treatment....Pugsy might be the main author. I was consumed by trying to get a low AHI early on. I was doing quite well overall, but still waking up too often.... Pugsy often says AHI is not a sleep score. How true! She often mentions ignoring leaks...if they are not...

Re: Hose covers on heated hoses?
I have used the ResMed hose cover ( zips on ) on my Climateline heated hose for a couple years. No problems at all. Not for the reason most would think, but in fact to cut down noise. The rough climateline hose would make noise sliding across the sleeping area. The hose cover makes it almost silent ...

Re: Mask Differences -- Finding a New One
Have you tried a Nuance Pro? Nasal pillows, front hose. Most secure mask ( for burrowing into a pillow ) I have ever used. You can tug on the hose and yet it still stays sealed. Drawbacks for me were the venting. Not diffused so that would wake me on occasion both from noise and the air hitting my a...

Re: Medicare requires that I answer questions before my next shipment
I'm surprised that people don't clean their hoses. Mine is heated, so with moisture inside, it's a good trap for mold. I'll try to conserve more. Thanks for the input! I cleaned my hose a week or so back. First time in over a year. I have the heated hose too, which actually would not accumulate moi...

Re: Going to N30i from F30i
I spent a few weeks on the N30i. Very comfortable. But...I could not keep the leaks down and they were waking me up on occasion. If you have the N30i and want to try a cheap change that will help with leaks....buy the P30i pillows in the correct size. These are interchangeable. All the headgear and ...

Re: Best masks for side sleeping?
For anyone wanting to transition away from a full face mask, or wants a mask with very low side effects try the ResMed P10. There just isn't a less intrusive mask available ( maybe the Bleep ). This mask seals very well when sleeping on ones side. Its ability to "flex" and not break seal is very goo...

Re: Problems to sleep with my Resmed N30 i mask
I have been using the N30i and P30i masks for many months. One of the first to get one, and can tell you they are particular in how they must be worn. I think you are wearing this mask way too tight! When first put on, before you turn on the machine, it should feel quite loose. Once the air pressure...

Re: exhalation concern with nasal pillow
Wet your finger, then put it in front of the P10. You will see there is more air moving than you thought!

Re: ResMed N30 user review
While it might not feel right, try scooting the entire mask further toward your upper lip.
I found the N30 had to be positioned just right to seal best, and it wasn't always where it "felt right" when putting it on.

Re: Switched from P10 to P30i
Anyone using the P30i and getting more leaks than they think they should be.....try the "small" size headgear. There are too many reports from actual users...that would measure for a standard size that are finding the small size lowers leak rates a lot. I am one of those users. Recently I went back ...

Re: CPAP, Arousal threshold & BMI
One thing I have learned here, and much of that thanks to Pugsy, is to NOT worry about how someone else is doing on cpap. BMI? Many think being obese guarantees sleep apnea and a BMI under 25 means you should not have sleep apnea. If that is something that bothers you, don't worry about studies. You...

Re: Congestion after use
Full face, and especially over the nose only masks caused congestion for me. They both put pressure on the outside of the weaker parts of the nose area and that cuts airflow. Nostril only pillows or cushion style masks have been the answer for me.

Re: Concern Over Sleep Apnea and Coronavirus Transmission
I think if you are in the same room, or the same house with someone, you are going to get infected. CPAP or not. I cannot believe someone actually spent time testing this to be true. So I will put it in the bullshit till proven otherwise file. Just put a burlap sack over their head to lessen the ran...

I am far from an expert, and surprised that this hasn't been mentioned yet....
From what I think I know, your oxygen levels are anything BUT ok! Especially so if you are using supplemental oxygen?
Might be that you need the cpap machine more than you realize?

Re: N30i cleaning
I don't think setting the machine for "pillows" will net any change. But it might make you think it does, and if you feel better it works! I clean the pillows externally every day. Sometimes, maybe weekly, I remove the pillows from the headgear and wash it thoroughly in hot water and soap. I have wa...
