Re: Travel machine
If you are ok with simply having a standard cpap unit, like you use at home, as your travel machine then that is the best thing to do. If all I done was travel by car, I would have a full sized Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset as my travel only machine. I need a smaller, lighter cpap for travel. So I boug...

Re: Best mask/headgear for fine hair?
I should add that I would have get the N30 but my HMO limits me to one Home Health Provider by my HMO and they don't have the N30. I am so used to the Pilario Q which barely sits in the nostrils and is so comfortable and I am not sure how I would like the feel of the P10 in my nostrils. I have seen...

Re: dreamwear --nasal or pillow
I'm late to the party, but I feel like the Dreamwear has very poor air flow for some reason. I get crazy low leak rates and it feels good, just doesn't let me breathe as well for some reason. I've read reviews that said something similar. Not sure why it restricts air flow compared to other masks. ...

Re: Are travel CPAP machines worth it?
Ask anyone posting in this thread that the travel machines are not worth the money, space, weight savings......if they have actually bought and used one! I have. I often ride thousands of miles at a time on a motorcycle. Don't tell me to just leave behind a pair of shoes....that may be the only pair...

Re: Trying new masks
Do everything you can to make the nasal mask work. I hate using a full face mask. Others are fine with them, and I get that. But the popular nasal masks just have less issues with leaking, sore spots. From mouth taping to the chin straps find out what works. I was told I had to use a full face as I ...

Re: P30i
Yes, you can swap to the N30i nose piece. BUT...be sure you are not putting too much tension on the P30i when wearing it. It takes very little tension to seal. In fact, if you overtighten it will break the seal more often ( I know this from trying it!). That tension could also be very irritating to ...

Re: Need advice: getting started with CPAP
You have found the site that can help! First I can tell you that if I had to put up with what the Doctor gave me to start with, I too might not have done so well with my therapy. There are LOTS of different masks, and each works better for some than others. Find that one for you and it really helps....

Re: Travel CPAP suggestions (Not Z1, Mini or Transcend)
... The biggest reduction in noise, far greater than the muffler, was buying and using the "travel cpap hose". Been using it over a year and it is still like new ( some wrote that there was no way it would last......). It really packs up small and cuts way down on noise. So I run the travel hose, a...

Re: Travel CPAP suggestions (Not Z1, Mini or Transcend)
I don't think the Z2 would be much different than a Z1 with the aftermarket muffler installed. I have the Z1. The "muffler" helps. Some. But not as much as you will want it to. The problem, as I see it, isn't that the small machines make noise. In fact if they made a steady noise that would be just ...

Re: Best Mask for Deviated Septum / Stuffy Nose
The ResMed P10 is about as safe a choice to "try" a nasal mask as there is. Very low irritation compared to some others. Very good at sealing and holds the seal very well for side sleepers. For what it is worth, I have found the nasal masks with pillows to be all I need even with a bad cold. The sli...

Might still be too new to find these in the "secondary" markets where they don't give a crap about a prescription!

Re: Resmed n30i
Glad you liked the pillows version! I am still very satisfied with the P30i. It would be hard to improve it. Which coming from me means something. Take care to not overtighten these. I had to adjust mine the other night after a haircut. I wear a "doo-rag" to help with mashing my hair down where the ...

Re: P30i nasal mask.
I have tried lanolin on the P10 and on the N30i and P30i. Mainly to look at better sealing as none of these were irritating my skin after a few uses.... I found the lanolin made leaks worse. It allows the contact area to slide too easily. I found that right before putting on the mask cleaning it wit...

Re: CPAP and dry cough
You have a humidifier. But is it working as well as it could? I use a travel cpap on occasion. No humidifier. I get a dry cough after a few days on it. Might be the same effect. I would look into increasing the output of the humidifier. I don't know the machine you use, so I cannot say what can or c...

Re: Resmed n30i
I currently use the N30i since October. I love it. I didn't care for the pillow style on Dreamwear. It made my nostrils sore. I may find the P30i to be different. Since I already have the N30i, I may buy the p30i pillow cushions only & try them. I too could not stand the pillows version of the Drea...
