Re: Looking for a few reliable people to test a new product for F30i, DreamWear, and Amaraview
It’s been at least a year since I have been away from this forum and I was curious to see what is going on and glad to see the regular crowd still here! If you need a tester for the f30 mask then I can test if you need someone to evaluate your liners. Ironically I don’t like using the f30 mask becau...

Re: AirMini
Unfortunately the mini being a tiny travel unit that you give up all the things that make it quiet. Smaller blower means high motor RPMs, smaller hose = higher air velocities, and no insulation in the unit. Even the exhaust joints in the hoses are super “airy sounding” because of they way they desig...

Re: CPAP plus dental device?
I occasionally use my bite guard tongue trainer thingy with my FFM. No issues and I probably should use it more often as I have a minor tongue placement /tongue thrusting issue that required me to go through some extensive orthodontic treatment multiple times in my adult life.

Re: redid a take home sleep test and results simply said "Normal HSAT"?
Hmm interesting Pugsy. I thought the same thing too about sleeping on my side but that isn't likely going to happen. I sleep on my right and my nose blocks up. I sleep on my left and eventually my arm and shoulders fall asleep or ache. I do this weird rolling around bit in my sleep and my wife says ...

Re: redid a take home sleep test and results simply said "Normal HSAT"?
So it turns out my doctor did have all the information from the sleep study. Here is how my test unfolded in this order (it was technically done backwards b/c of a miscommunication of what I was seeking which was a re-evaluation of my OSA). The reports are "SnoreStat". 1. Initial test was done hooki...

Re: redid a take home sleep test and results simply said "Normal HSAT"?
Thanks for all the feedback. I tried to ask for the actual results but they said it was sent to my doctor but really all they sent was the referral form indicating they will call me in 6-12 months and not an ounce of additional info. I don’t doubt that cpap helps. Night sweats and frequent urination...

redid a take home sleep test and results simply said "Normal HSAT"?
So I asked a while back about getting off of CPAP because I had lost a decent amount of weight and was annoyed by the extreme dry mouth I'd occasionally get when using CPAP (never got it when I wore a HARD cervical collar but sleeping wearing that just isn't natural to anyone). While I don't hate my...

Re: Visited a sleep doctor and I was pretty underwhelmed
The two recent charts show significant amounts of flow limitation. This may or may not be affecting the quality of your sleep; the number of RERAs in the most recent chart suggests that it may be somewhat disruptive. (RERAs are respiratory effort related arousals.) Have you ever tried using EPR for...

Re: Visited a sleep doctor and I was pretty underwhelmed
Thanks Pugsy, That's just it... no flow limitations that I can see, no snore (never really snored much even before CPAP) so therefore it makes me wonder if I should just stop using the machine for a few weeks and see what happens. I guess the only true answer is to get a level 1 sleep study done or ...

Re: Visited a sleep doctor and I was pretty underwhelmed
Here are some screen shots from sleepyhead. Running and older computer and never got around to installing oscar. The MOST recent chart is set at a fixed pressure of 4.0 (not sure why sleepyhead says its variable pressure b/c it wasn't). The other screen shots were from April 2021 and July 2018 when ...

Visited a sleep doctor and I was pretty underwhelmed
So a while back I had posted a question asking how I would know if I still needed CPAP. The takeaways from my last post if memory serves me correctly is: 1. Sleep apnea generally doesn't go away unless some drastic weight changes occur. In my case, I'm the same exact weight when I was prescribed a C...

Re: Beware of Hospital Charges when Bringing Your Own CPAP
makes me grateful that I am in Canada where it's rare to get billed for anything especially in a hospital. While I have no experience with a hospital stay that my spouse certain has and not once have we received a bill. I can't imagine the cost of healthcare in the US and how many Americans must suf...

Re: possibly no sleep apnea after losing a bunch of weight?
It is just amazing that for a diagnosis 2 years ago with borderline OSA (as in BARELY qualifying for a CPAP) that I would've thought that dropping 20lbs would've helped bring me under the limit of not having to need one. I can sleep without a CPAP for a couple of days and not notice too much initial...

Re: possibly no sleep apnea after losing a bunch of weight?
Apparently so... even though I have a super low AHI to start with that it feels weird to. It have my cpap operating at the proper pressures. The moment I cranked the pressure back up and put everything back on I fell asleep without issue. That being said I guess there must be something wrong with my...
