Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

From the link https://www.usa.philips.com/healthcare/e/sleep/communications/src-update it states "90% of the production of replacement devices and repair kits globally has been completed" That is really difficult to believe with so many here still waiting. Maybe what that means is that they have a ...

Re: Just Received Two Replacement DS1s via Recall - Has Anyone Else Received DS1s Instead of DS2s? New or Refurbished?

Quick update on the new replacement DS1s received directly from Philips 2 weeks ago. Just finished using the first machine over the past two weeks and all works well with the APAP algorithms working as expected. Set up the second DS1machine today and it also appears to work well per an initial quick...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

P.S. You should make the second claim on your machine. Always a good idea to have a backup. Also, if eligible, there is now a prioritization menu on the Philips recall web site that may allow you accelerate delivery of your replacement units. I just stumbled on to the so called prioritization optio...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

My System One 560P is my back up machine so replacement hasn't been urgent. But after getting the run around for a year after registration and being forced to jump through extra hoops I decided to just remove the foam when I get around to it and never buy a Philips product again. My Resmed products...

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

There is a good chance that many more of the machines on the market may have foam issues and that Philips, for all our complaining, is the only manufacturer that owned up to the issue. My Goodknight 420 CPAP from 2005-6 had foam that had turned to mush when I dissembled it prior to disposal a few y...

Don't be ashamed of getting spares, because nobody is open at night, when breakdowns ALWAYS happen. an extra water chamber for each (per you post no one is open in the middle of the night if you drop one and break it), OMG, so true! You cannot imagine my panic when I dropped the water chamber for m...

Re: Just Received Two Replacement DS1s via Recall - Has Anyone Else Received DS1s Instead of DS2s? New or Refurbished?

Patient portal has been updated this week. Prescription details needed is one option with a New Option for receiving a Auto Cpap replacement with default values and no prescription required. Thank you for that update as the option wasn't there 6 days ago. Even though, per a recent call to the Phili...

Re: Just Received Two Replacement DS1s via Recall - Has Anyone Else Received DS1s Instead of DS2s? New or Refurbished?

I am dealing only with Philips not a DME. The statement about no replacement for off warranty, older than 5 year old machines was said to me by a Philips rep. and appears in text at the Philips recall site yet the choice to get return payment or a replacement was made at the end of the online filin...

Re: Replacement v Return Payment for Philips recalled CPAPs

I registered my System One CPAP with Philips by telephone conversation as part of the recall process. The rep told me it did not qualify for replacement due to 1. being off warranty and 2. older than its suggested service life of 5 years. I said that I want a replacement anyway. The rep told me to ...

Re: Just Received Two Replacement DS1s via Recall - Has Anyone Else Received DS1s Instead of DS2s? New or Refurbished?

Replacement was choice for as opposed to payment for returning my Philips CPAP. Can you tell me how long I can expect to wait for the replacement? It was first claimed during telephone conversation registration that my only option was a payment for returning the unit due to its age. I told the rep ...

Re: CPAP Supplies Last Up To 4x Longer in Austrlia per ResMed - Or Is It That Allowed Insurance Replacement Rules Differ

Did a quick search before posting on "Australia Replacement Frequency" and didn't come up with anything. Personally had not seen the Australian replenishment frequencies before. Don't worry about it. There are a finite number of CPAP subjects, and many of them get circulated over and over here. It'...

Re: CPAP Supplies Last Up To 4x Longer in Austrlia per ResMed - Or Is It That Allowed Insurance Replacement Rules Differ

Would love to hear their explanation as to why the same items should last from 2x to 4x as long in Australia versus what they recommend in the U.S. This is not news..... it been known for a long time and discussed here previously on numerous occasions. Glad to hear that. Did a quick search b...

Re: Common CPAP Questions Answered

Hey everyone! I wanted to introduce myself not as a sleep apnea sufferer but as a sleep apnea ”Helper”! Lol! My name is Josh and I own a company similar to all those that you probably got your CPAP equipment. I’m also a respiratory therapist and have been now for 18 years, 12 of those focusing on h...

Re: CPAP Supplies Last Up To 4x Longer in Austrlia per ResMed - Or Is It That Allowed Insurance Replacement Rules Differ

As a general rule (there are exceptions) medical insurance in Australia only pays AU$500 - 750 against the cost of a machine and nothing towards supplies. Consequently, items like tubs, hoses and cushions are all out-of-pocket. People here tend to look at the value and cost of replacements, rather ...
