Re: Anyone used ResMed CPCP in AMTRAX Roomette?

Thanks. Roomettes have 120 VAC outlets. The cords associated with my ‘brick’ may total eight feet. We once had an hour waiting for the train to be remade in Spokane for the trip to Portland and the car was without power for about an hour. Power interruptions do not seem to be an issue for my ResMed ...

Anyone used ResMed CPCP in AMTRAX Roomette?

Vacationing next week and I’m wondering if there is sufficient room in an AMTRAX Roomette sleeper compartment to use my CPAP.

Re: DC cpap suggestion?

Mine. Will run fine off a 24 VDC battery pack . With humidifier off it draws 4 amps; times 8 hours per night is 32 AH @ 24 VDC. Use a 50 AH 24 VDC AGM battery pack for extra capacity for Peukert Effect and aging. Charge them separately with a CTEK 4.3 MUS that will not overcharge an AGM while chargi...

At Doug_Nightmare, what is viscoelsatic temperature effect? Starlette
Warmer => Softer. Cooler => Firmer.

We do not heat our bedroom. When the ice is thick on the inside of the thermopane then the Tempur-Pedic is very firm.

Re: can too high of pressure prevent treatment?

... Higher pressures could lead to bloating, leaks, and central apneas , ... all apneas would be prevented by the machine and your AHI would be 0.0. Only Obstructive SA can be prevented by pressure stenting. Central SA are forever, short of a brain reset. Am I wrong? Edited for the hard of reading....

Re: Cpap and camping

17 AH 12 volt nominal sealed lead-acid battery, in the Centech 3 in 1. That’s 1 Amp for 17 hours, or 17 Amps for one hour (less the Peukert Effect); or and product of Amps and hours equaling 17 AH. If a nominal night is 7 hours, then ~2½ ‘nights’ at 1 Amp. Mine AS10 draws 4 Amps normally, as high as...

Re: ISO nasal decongestant recommendations discussion

If that is not enough, mucinex nasal spray. Oxymetazoline hydrochloride, thanks. Also as Otrivin, Afrin, Operil, Dristan, Dimetapp, Oxyspray, Facimin, Nasivin, Nostrilla, Sudafed OM, Vicks Sinex, Zicam, SinuFrin, Drixoral and Mucinex Full Force. Looks like the winner for single use against emergent...

Re: Cpap and camping

I was a host for Roger Gravel’s Warm Showers List for about ten years. We had one party with a CPAP and long extension cord that camped in our yard. We maintain contact with three of our guest parties, but no longer participate in the list. Too many did not realize that our Island is a destination a...

Re: can too high of pressure prevent treatment?

CPAP pressure stents the airway open against collapse of the upper airway anatomy. A listed complication is aerophagia ‘swallowing’ air into the stomach and caused by too high CPAP pressure.

ISO nasal decongestant recommendations discussion

Last night, Monday night, I abandoned my CPAP therapy for the first time in the 12 days that I have had it. Mondays’ routine has me exposed to a bit more dust than usual for vacuuming and dusting. Yesterday I also blew off - leaf blower - the second story hot tub deck. Monday’s therapy didn’t start ...

Will you please get a citation to this study. Omeprazole is on the WHO List of Essential Medicines, and in use since about 1980, 38 years.

Ranitidine is Zantac evolved from Tagamet.

Viscoelastic ‘memory’ foam. Re: Best bed

I grew up with a waterbed under the stars, in the backyard, in the Sixties. That’s probably the best location for a good waterbed, where it does not overload modern construction limitations. I tried them off and on through my early life but was always worried by the tender floors that they caused. T...
