Re: Haven’t worn CPAP in three weeks - feel fine?
In case anyone else stumbles on this post with a similar question (why don’t symptoms suddenly return after CPAP withdrawal?), I found an interesting study: https://www.atsjournals.org/doi/full/10.1164/rccm.201106-0964OC Basically, while actual obstructive events, cardiovascular symptoms, and even g...

Re: Haven’t worn CPAP in three weeks - feel fine?
Maybe when they pulled your Wisdom Teeth, maybe they got too much of the Wisdom Juice. Sounds like that could be the problem. I'd use my XPAP! Jim I don’t think I said I *wanted* to discontinue CPAP, just that I’m puzzled as to why the symptoms that CPAP previously alleviated haven’t returned. Duri...

Re: Haven’t worn CPAP in three weeks - feel fine?
What are your current machine settings? Hard to help without more information from Sleepyhead software. Apnea rarely revolves itself. I don’t think my lack of symptoms doesn’t have anything to do with my machine settings at this point because I’m experiencing a lack of symptoms without cpap - so it...

Re: Haven’t worn CPAP in three weeks - feel fine?
Got a sleep study that showed RDI of 17 and REM RDI of 39. Lots of hypopneas and RERAs. After more thought, I think my symptoms seem to take a while to develop - similar to how it takes a while to get fat when you stop exercising. Perhaps if I don’t wear the mask for many months and keep a bad sleep...

Haven’t worn CPAP in three weeks - feel fine?
Previously I was on CPAP for about a month or two - symptoms of fatigue and tiredness quickly dissipated. I became a new person. This was very relieving as it took around 3 months to get compliant. Had to get my wisdom teeth out two weeks ago and since then I returned to my old ways of taking the ma...

Re: Intense Sleep Inertia/Sleeping 9+ hrs on CPAP?
Oh how I wish I could sleep like that!!! If switching to FFM did that for you I may have to try one because I’m not sleeping with nasal mask. I’m just so claustrophobic! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I think FFM works for me because it's far more difficult for my unconscious self to yank off. ...

Re: When should one start considering BiPAP/ASV
My bad, I was asking more or less in general when BiPAP is used for UARS.

When should one start considering BiPAP/ASV
UARS patient here (AHI << RDI)
I was wondering when it’s appropriate to consider BiPAP/ASV. If I consistently get clear airways, and can’t get my total AHI < 1, should I consider the switch to BiPAP?

Re: Intense Sleep Inertia/Sleeping 9+ hrs on CPAP?
@rcobourn Before FFM, I couldn't keep the mask on for more than 4 hours. It was terrible haha. Though on the nights that I was compliant, I do remember the occasional AHI<2. @jnk... I'll admit that my sleep schedule isn't super strict/precise. I definitely am not going to rule out sleep hygiene. We'...

I see. What's usually a "great" night for you? Apnea index around 1?

Re: Intense Sleep Inertia/Sleeping 9+ hrs on CPAP?
Sleepyhead results look great. Note that the RDI is inflated - most the centrals seem to be just snorts/changing position etc - not true centrals. This is what a typical night of cpap looks like for me.

Intense Sleep Inertia/Sleeping 9+ hrs on CPAP?
Hey all, After switching to a FFM, I found it quite easy to keep the mask on for 7-8 hours. I'm now seeing a pattern where I'll sleep for 7-8 hours, feel totally unable to start my day at ~8hrs, and then sleep for another 1.5-3hrs. Upon waking up a second time, I'll feel great and easily start my da...

Re: Got a titration - somehow took my mask off again
If you all can make it through life without letting the stray cuss word out, then please send me the Kool-Aid/controlled substances you're taking. Stuff must be right. Haha you all would probably hate me and all of my (read: 1) friends if you had to work with me in real life. Anyway, here's a blown-...

Got a titration - somehow took my mask off again
I got a titration done two nights ago. They found that my optimal pressure is 7 - and that I should stay at a fixed pressure.
For some reason, after setting my machine to 7/CPAP-mode, I took the mask off. Why (some not so pretty words removed by mod) would this happen?
