Airsense 11: weird smell
I've had an Airsense 11 since late 2023; sleep doc upgraded me from an Airsense 10 when the 5 year period on the latter was up. Often the air coming out of the Airsense 11 has a very odd smell. I'd describe it as sweet, almost like a sweet burning smell, but maybe more like melting beeswax. (NB: I'm...

Drooling after wisdom tooth extraction: how sleep?
I've been using a cpap machine for some years now. If I don't use it, I don't sleep well and feel horrible the next day. This afternoon I had a wisdom tooth pulled. I can handle the pain, but I'm drooling like crazy. Any suggestions for how I might deal with this when I try to use my cpap tonight? I...

Re: If you have ever considered a backup battery for your cpap
ResMed still does not have a Air11 branded DC-DC converter, but the AirMini DC-DC Converter numbers are 24v at 65w, which is the same output as the Air11 power brick. The port is compatible and it would be a huge mistake for ResMed to produce a form-factor compatible port that isn't pin compatible....

Re: Resmed AC/DC converter doesn't work with Airsense 11 power jack
Once you have the new DC-DC adapter in hand, make sure it works with the same battery you used with your Airsense 10. Mine does not. It seems to require more voltage than the 12-volt scooter battery provides. That's weird. I just bought the Resmed converter for the Airsense 11, and it supposed to w...

Re: Resmed AC/DC converter doesn't work with Airsense 11 power jack
Beware of the ones without the 'brick', these are meant for 24volt supply, your battery is 12v, you need the dc-dc brick in between. If you're real handy with soldering etc you could strip wires, splice, adapt etc... why bother? You will get more time on the battery out of the 11 since it uses less...

Re: Resmed AC/DC converter doesn't work with Airsense 11 power jack
There are these "ResMed AirSense 11 Cable Kit for Medistrom Pilot-24 Lite" which look like what I'd need, except that the "coax" part is male, but I'd need female.

Resmed AC/DC converter doesn't work with Airsense 11 power jack
Last October I was upgraded from an Airsense 10 to an Airsense 11. I've gone camping with my Airsense 10 before. To that end I bought the Resmed AC/DC converter and a lead acid battery. Worked great. I'm going camping this coming weekend, and I realized that the output power plug of the converter do...

Philips sales halted ==> cpap shortage?
I see Philips is in pretty big trouble with the FDA ( https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/philips-reaches-compliance-agreement-with-fda-over-ventilator-recall-2024-01-29/ ). How much market share have they had historically? I'm a little paranoid that the supply of machines wi...

Re: How serious to take sleep apnea/cpap?
I take it seriously enough that I now pack my (charged) lithium battery since: - I have one - and it fits in the bag - Bonus - it charges using the machine's power supply, no extra gear needed What brand/model number is that battery? And what's your set up? Asking because it would be good for this ...

Re: How serious to take sleep apnea/cpap?
My understanding is that someone with moderate-to-severe OSA with serious desaturations and significant comorbidities (such as cardiovascular issues) could be taking on some meaningful risk of damage to health and life if he or she goes all night, even just one, without PAP. Luckily I don't have an...

How serious to take sleep apnea/cpap?
I'm on a short vacation with the family, and the power went out. (It came on a few hours later, before bed, but as we all know that's not guaranteed.) Things got pretty tense; my kids are teenagers, and one of them is pretty spoiled. (She got in a big fight with my wife about going home in time to c...

Re: Melted plastic smell won't go away
Hmm...touched the touch screen, and it says "Heating system error. Therapy may run without heating." I'll probably call the equipment provider.
