Bumpy waveforms?

I'm currently looking through some of my flow rate graphs and I noticed something that seems to happen quite often throughout the night. I tried to search google for an answer but couldn't find one. It may be nothing but the waveforms seem to have a lot of bumps on them instead of being smooth. Does...

Flow Limitations don't make sense

I'm trying to lower my FL at the moment but what I'm seeing on sleepyhead doesn't make sense. I thought that given what FL is, the correct way to reduce it would be to increase the fixed pressure or increase the min pressure on an auto machine. Maybe you could also lower the EPR. I've tried raising ...

Re: Please help. Low AHI but still wake up all the time.

Just a little update. I've been keeping a sleep diary for the past week. What I've found is that every time without fail I wake up it's whilst I'm dreaming. I know that makes the awakenings seem like normal post sleep cycle awakenings but the evidence suggests otherwise. Sometimes it's two hours bet...

Re: Please help. Low AHI but still wake up all the time.

I'd rather know what the problem was, even if it was a bad problem, then be completely clueless about what's causing the awakening issues. It's so frustrating because you can't remedy what you don't understand. I may see if anyone on the freecpapadvice forum has an idea. I'll probably continue with ...

Re: Please help. Low AHI but still wake up all the time.

Last night I turned the machine off for a brief period every time I awoke so that I had a record of exactly when it happened. My mind was racing a little yesterday and I think that's why I ended up awakening 9 times. I only stopped the machine 8 times because on the first awakening (which happened a...

Re: Please help. Low AHI but still wake up all the time.

palerider: Your view on pressure changes does make more sense than what I previously read, the breathing events are probably occuring before the pressure increases. My pressure before yesterday was set at 6-10 which keeps me below an AHI of 2 for most nights, I'll probably put it back at that soon....

Re: Please help. Low AHI but still wake up all the time.

Thanks pugsy for your continued help here, I really do appreciate it. I don't have any nasal congestion issues so the limitations are probably from my airway. I may get a neck brace as some people have had success with them on the forum. If not then I'll have to try a higher pressure range. Thanks f...

Re: Please help. Low AHI but still wake up all the time.

Regarding the pressure range, I read that breathing can change as we enter different stages of sleep which causes the machine to increase the pressure, this then leads to arousal's. Looking at my previous nights sleepyhead data my pressure seemed to mostly be between 7-8 so I thought I'd keep the pr...

Re: Please help. Low AHI but still wake up all the time.

Pugsy: Good thinking regarding how to record exactly what time I woke up through the night. I may do that, I could also pull the mask away for a few seconds to register a large leak. I don't take any medication or have any pain/health problems. My mattress is quite new and comfortable so I don't th...

Please help. Low AHI but still wake up all the time.

I consistently have an AHI below 2, sometimes even under 1 but I wake up 5-6 times every single night. I thought when I had my sleep apnea under control these frequent awakenings would stop but that hasn't happened. Is there any part of the sleepyhead data that may give more insight into why I wake ...

Re: Plug problem

Thank you to everyone for the replies. I've decided to get a different power cord. In case anyone else has this problem I found the new power cord by searching amazon using these keywords "uk 3 pin c7".

Plug problem

I’ve just gotten my machine and was going to give it a test run this afternoon before using it when I go to sleep tonight. Unfortunately that plan is in ruins because my plug adapter doesn’t work. I purchased my resmed 10 airsense autoset from america (I live in the UK). This meant that the PAP mach...

Re: Really concerned with cleaning

Thanks for all your replies. I suffer from pretty serious OCD so I go overboard with a lot of things. It's something I'm working on improving. I'm aware of how irrational my actions often are but the compulsion to do them remains hard to overcome. You've all explained the logic of why I'm overreacti...
