Air Leaking into Eyes
Anyone have any tips/tricks to help stop air back pressuring up a tear duct? Husband has been using his resmed ASV for years but recently wakes up some mornings feeling like a "red hot poker" in his eye. I have looked at the data and there doesn't seem to be leaks detected. Thanks for any suggestion...

Re: Question for ASV users
We switched my husband to an ASV machine in August after about 4 months on a APAP machine. We purchased the Resmed version. He loved the ASV machine as it adjusted with each breath. The first night his AHI was 1.2. His usual AHI on the APAP was around 20. He has used the ASV for 2 months and loves t...

Re: Best AHI To Date
My husband had a 0.2 AHI yesterday with 7.2 hours use. That has been his best since being diagnosed in February also. Made the switch to an ASV machine 3 weeks ago and had great results with that switch. I don't even know what to do with myself without asking him if he needs setting changes LOL

Right Machine, Right Results
After spending 6 months fighting to get my husband's AHI to move in the correct direction with all of the CA's. We made the jump to an ASV machine last week after discussions with his cardiologist as well as wonderful people on this forum. He has used the machine for 1 week and loves how easy it is ...

Re: Resmed Aircurve Cellular Settings
Thanks everyone. I found on another forum site that a US based machine has the wrong cellular data settings for Canada and thus why I am not getting cellular connection. Not a big deal since our DME has pretty much vanished. I can use SH reports to discuss with primary care physician and cardiologis...

Resmed Aircurve Cellular Settings
Does anyone know how to change the cellular settings? Just received husband's Aircurve ASV from SecondwindCPAP and its not picking up our cellular settings around here. I know its not a big deal as I have an SD card inserted and ready with sleepyhead software but thought it would be nice to connect ...

Re: Mostly Centrals
I hope my husband has the same experience. His ASV machine should be arriving next week. After 6 months with a APAP, his centrals were not getting any better. Also reviewed his first sleep study which actually had a a bunch of centrals then. Very low AHIs are common on resmed ASVs. We are hoping. P...

Re: Purchasing a device from SecondwindCPAP
Check also with some Canadian online dealers like Cpapoutlet MonsterCPAP and Cpapmachines. Prices at these places are typically much cheaper than local DMEs. Check with your insurer if they would accept Secondwindcpap and/or these online dealers. A couple months ago, I bought a new APAP backup unit...

Re: Purchasing a device from SecondwindCPAP
Thanks everyone. Just ordered a gently used Resmed Aircurve 10 ASV. They did change me $85 for express shipping to Canada. Will be interesting to see how fast it gets here.

Re: Purchasing a device from SecondwindCPAP
It appears that CPAP is not covered in Alberta. Their website says that international orders are welcome. I don't think you'll have to pay GST or PST (or whatever these taxes are now called) on uncovered medical necessities, but you'll need to make sure. Per the Alberta Health Plan website "The Lun...

Purchasing a device from SecondwindCPAP
Just wondering if anyone has purchased a device/machine from this website? Husband needs to switch to an ASV type machine and their prices are significantly less than what we have to pay up here in Canada. Our insurance only covers 50% to a certain maximum so looking for options that are more cost e...

Re: Narrow Nasal Passages - getting desparate
My husband (APAP user) is in the same situation. We are waiting to see the ENT next month as his nasal passages are blocked (one side blocked 100% and other about 50%). His is 3 weeks into his trial with the Resmed Airsense 10. We tried the nasal mask but wasn't great as he needs to breath thru his ...

Re: New to CPAP and Sleep Data Help
Okay...that's good to know...follow up relatively soon with a doctor. We can live with that. The DME or equipment supplier appointment...unless they have a doctor on board there...I don't hold out much for that input because the real doctor needs to be involved. Maybe where you live, since you aren...
