Re: Please Help Me Interpret my Stats
Palerider, Quick question. It's been a good year since I've interacted, but I've always wondered about using Oscar software, this question. I know you folks who ask for certain categories in a particular sequence and then zoom in or screenshot this or that, in order to help read our Oscar reports. I...

Re: 20 second OSA?? That can't be good???
Thanks. I was wondering if I was being my own worst enemy and over-analyzing things? Perhaps the stress of my job has crept into my subconscious sleep pattern? I have some anxiety over my new position at work. I do have a past history (Pre-CPAP) of waking up with my heart racing and panicking for ni...

I tried to grab a couple screen shots from just before the incident.

Re: 20 second OSA?? That can't be good???
Well it's 2am and I'm up. I went 2 nights without an arousal that didn't wake me up. I usually sleep on my right side. Well tonight I was on my back and I was awoken with an arousal. My heart was beating fast. By fast I mean 90bpm+. I noticed right away while trying to keep my upper palate closed an...

20 second OSA?? That can't be good???
My typical AHI every night is between .05 and 1.3 and I have some good and bad nights still. I'm usually awoken once a night about 3 times a week 2 hours after I fall asleep. I don't' know if it's sleep anxiety or PND or what? It does NOT happen every night. I'm not gasping for air but I literally f...

Re: Yearly maintenance for CPAP
I run the Resmed AirSense10 and I wash my hose, mask weekly. I also wipe down my nasal pillows (inside and out) every day after use with anti-bacterial wipes. Change my filter every month as well...and wash out my water tank weekly. HOWEVER, how do you clean INSIDE the machine? I"ve had mine about 1...

Re: Resmed CPAP software
I had an "episode" (woke up at 5:55am this morning, which was unplanned) so I plugged in my Sleepyhead data SD to see what was the issue. I had an OA where I didn't breathe for 10 seconds. Hence why when I awoke it explained why I needed to suck in extra air quick to get more oxygen in the system! I...

Re: Choosing a Battery
What is your take on these small self-contained battery back-up power generators for use with CPAP's? I was preparing long list of sarcastic remarks based on the term "power generator" when in fact it generates nothing, but on close inspection it seems to have reasonable value for the money. 155 Wa...

Re: Choosing a Battery
If you're looking to save money, you can get a WalMart flooded maintenance free marine battery starting at about $75 but they'll ask for an old battery in trade (core exchange). Make sure they say "Deep Cycle" as the "Marine Starting" versions look almost the same. The power is 80 to 110 AH, propor...

Re: Waking up with heart racing, low O2, without any OA/CA events
Actually it was only a coincidence that I stopped using it about the exact same time. I didn't stop in hopes of it being one of the causes. There are plenty of possible issues using aluminum based deodorants, but I eat too much crappy food for that to be a real concern.

Re: Waking up with heart racing, low O2, without any OA/CA events
I used to have very similar occurrences that would wake me up at 2:30-3:30 am almost every night. So I'm curious if you've alleviated your problem or found what was causing it? I stopped using Lisinopril (ACE Inhibitor), drinking alcohol so close to bed time and stopped using antiperspirant deodoran...

Re: CPAP is for pressure but not for oxygen right?
Well after turning off the EPR I've slept through the night for 2 nights in a row. It was initially odd getting used to since the exhales seems to take a little more force and since I'm using nasal pillows, opening the mouth the air really comes rushing out. But so far so good.

Re: CPAP is for pressure but not for oxygen right?
CAN anyone verify what he's talking about here? I'm sure it's simply called something else in my settings? I think he is talking about EPR or exhale pressure relief on a ResMed machine. I found an old post where I had my settings listed and I see that my EPR is on Full. I also run a higher Min Pres...

Re: CPAP is for pressure but not for oxygen right?
After reading this board I found out that about after a month or so if using the CPAP, it is sometimes good to turn off the breath assist feature ( or whatever they call it with Resmed) and things got much better. Now, I rarely have any low oxygen events and when they occur, the little device vibra...

Re: CPAP is for pressure but not for oxygen right?
If your AHI is as low as you say,(.2-.5) you are only having 3-5 apnea events all night. Holding your breath for 30 seconds each will not cause you low oxygen saturation. You are correct..."CPAP is for pressure but not for oxygen"...although, oxygen levels are better when there are fewer apnea even...
