An update in case anyone is interested in how this turned out:
I put the lemon juice in some warm water, sloshed it around in the unit for a bit then left it to soak for about an hour. Unit is now sparkling - no rubbing or scrubbing required, the scale just lifted off.
I had clearly underestimated how passionate the debate would get around the use of distilled water! As things stand - and as was the point of me posting here in the first place - I want to remove some limescale from my humidifier and I want to try using lemon to do that. I'm very sensitive to...
Thanks for clarifying on the water front Pugsy. So, I am using standard bottled water - not anything fancy. Sorry for confusion. Den - my book is definitely not the same as yours. For a start, my user guide here in the UK only runs to 16 pages in the English language (more pages if you include all t...
Chicago Granny - yes, I’m playing around a bit with humidifier settings but haven’t managed to get it right yet. I hadn’t realised that not using the humidifier was an option, actually, so that’s good to know. I’m getting through a lot of nasal spray at the moment!
I read the books it came with too and it doesn’t mention distilled water at all. It literally just says to fill the humidifier with water. I’m wondering whether the instruction booklets are different here as distilled water isn’t so commonly available? Some nights I pour the bottled water through my...
Thanks for all the responses. To clarify: I’m using bottled mineral water because that was what the sleep technician suggested I do. And I now want to get rid of the limescale, because that’s what he suggested I do. I think he suggested lemon as it smells better than vinegar. Doesn’t the smell of vi...
My Resmed machine has a built in humidifier. I use bottled mineral water in it - I change the water daily and dry it out and let it air every morning when I empty it. There’s now some limescale in it and I’m not sure the best way to descale it. The sleep technician who first gave me the machine sugg...
Thanks for the recent posts, which are encouraging. I don’t have an appointment with the sleep consultant until October, but the sleep technician said to get in touch with them if the night terrors occur between now and then and they can then refer it to the consultant and see what else we can try. ...
Thanks. I’ll have a look into Sleepy Head as I’m not sure what that is just now. I had a call with the sleep clinic last week to check in to see how my first week had gone. They adjusted my ramp setting, seemed otherwise happy with pressure settings and said I had very minimal leakage. So, she seeme...
Hi everyone I’m new here (hello!) and wanted to ask whether anyone has found that PAP treatment has improved their parasomnias? I’ve had night terrors and night time hallucinations since I was a teenager and finally asked my GP for a referral to a sleep clinic last year to see whether they would hav...
