Re: CPAP Friendly Hotels
Most of the hotels I’ve used has the electric outlet built into the lamp on the nightstand. This allows you to set the machine on the nightstand or the floor. Works for me. That tends to be a US only thing in the rest of the world there is no extra sockets on the lamp Thats really a shame. They are...

Re: How long is too long from sleep study ordered till getting your CPAP??
I just looked at my records. In home test was 12-27-17.
I had my titration study on 1-4-18 and had my cpap on 1-9-18.
Home study showed AHI of 32/hour
Titration study there was not enough time asleep for them to get a reading.

Re: Insurance stuff
The Medicare schedule is listed in this article but you insurance limits may be different. I remember with my Anthem insurance some things are “as needed” instead of every 6 months. My DME sent me a humidifier tank after 1 month. https://www.sleepapnea.org/treat/cpap-therapy/care-and-replacement-of...

Re: Insurance stuff
So now I need an idea of what supplies I can order and how often. I believe the former DME used the Medicare schedule. I wont need supplies that often but dont want to order something too soon. I feel free   well, i think i may be misunderstanding this part. do you mean how often you shou...

Re: Insurance stuff
Yes the DME is in network. They should be reported to your insurance company for being unwilling to fill your prescription. They should be reported to the state regulators. Refusing to fill a prescription for devices they are licensed to sell may be a violation. You should file WRITTEN complaints w...

Re: Insurance stuff
cpap.com use to send out, via email, a printable universal insurance claim form that you could use to file with your insurance company. I don't know if they still do that or not....call them up and ask them. If they do...it will pretty much have everything you need to file insurance already on it. ...

For the past several months I have been having issues with my DME. They refuse to order the mask I want. Never have gotten a new humidifier, on and on. While visiting the sleep Dr, I let out my frustration about them and she said “let me send them an Rx for that particular mask and see what happens”...

Re: Is there a water chamber release?
What works for me is lifting the water chamber up slightly as Im pulling it out and have the white tab pushed in. Pulling it up a bit seems to break the seal easier between the plate and chamber. YMMV

Re: OT For Women Only: Smash the Wellness Industry
Article is pretty accurate. I remember years ago when Phil Donahue was on TV, he did a big show on interviewing young children. The majority of the children asked said they would rather be blind or deaf or lose a limb than to be fat. It was pretty eye opening as the kids were about 5-8 years old.

Barbee, sorry you’re dealing with it too. I’ve done the baby aspirin and phlebotomy too; am back to doing it now. Has your cpap ever made your numbers normal? That’s what happened to me until my AHI rose again in response to who knows what. I was diagnosed within weeks with both. About 18 months ag...
