Re: Sleep tracking in fitbit versa and too little REM sleep
I wanted to post a update. I have been comparing my Fitbit sleep data with sleepyhead graphs. I believe fitbit's sleep stage tracking (atleast REM sleep) is more accurate that what I would expect from a fitness tracker. I have been having bouts of waking up from vivid dream and whenever I remember t...

Sleep tracking in fitbit versa and too little REM sleep
Hi all, I got a fitbit versa and I have been checking the sleep data in it. I feel somewhat accurate to me but it is showing the amount of REM sleep I get is below the benchmark/average. Granted I have been sleep a bit less after I got the fitbit (6 - 6.5 hours versus the 7 - 7.5). I feel that the f...

Re: After losing 150 pounds?
Congrats on the weight loss. 150 pounds!!!! That is an achievement. Any tips to share with us? I am not experienced as others in the forum so take my advice with a pinch of salt. But are you still seeing events in your CPAP data. If you are still seeing events then isn't that a good indication that ...

Re: What mattress do you use
I have a very old but good mattress but I'm not sure the brand. On it's own its firm as a rock. Was great for my back but if I slept on my side it was horrible. After years and years I've kept the rock slab but have been using a 4" thick memory foam topper that makes all the difference for us. The ...

Re: What mattress do you use
We use the Temperedic. It is very firm, but has been called the best mattress in the world. When you don't "try out" a mattress at the store, you run the risk of not getting what you think you are. For me, that has been a hard lesson to learn when I started buying stuff on-line. Sheriff The online ...

Can I close this thread.
Can the moderator close this thread. All I wanted was to let everyone know of a good book that might interest the people here in the forum.

Re: 8 months into CPAP journey. Taking a quick feedback
Any other comment on the graphs? And mostly out of curiosity, anyone else has started dreaming (consistently) with cpap treatment? Only those with poor treatment. Those with good treatment sleep through the dreams, and thus don't remember them. My AHI numbers and sleep has been pretty good. But I h...

Re: Book recommendation: Why We Sleep: Unlocking the Power of Sleep and Dreams
Just looked at the table of contents on Amazon. Looks like an interesting book for those interested in what science has so far managed to figure out on the importance of sleep and the effects of sleep deprivation. I'll probably request it from my library. I can also highly recommend the course "Sec...

Re: 8 months into CPAP journey. Taking a quick feedback
Pugsy had noted in my old thread that my flow limit graph looks a bit busy.viewtopic/t158201/Newbie-here-looking-f ... nsion.html. That seems to be not the case now.
Any suggestions on dry mouth? Will using a chin strap help?

Re: 8 months into CPAP journey. Taking a quick feedback
10 events with so many arousals seems to high to me personally . I'd agree with your doctor which is unusual... He's probably a genius for actually suggesting a higher pressure. You may have one of the good ones. Oh, I have a story for you. My original doctor in India was very good. I went to stanf...

What mattress do you use
Hi All, After suffering with a old mattress which had gone soft, I went ahead and bought a new one from a online store . But I am finding it too soft for my taste. (I have been getting back pain from lack of support.) I wanted to check whether someone can recommend a good firm mattress. I would gues...

8 months into CPAP journey. Taking a quick feedback
Hi all, I had consulted with the wisdom of this forum when I started the CPAP journey here http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t158201/Newbie-here-looking-for-feedback-and-advice-on-hypertension.html. Now it is almost 8 months later and I have been using CPAP for 5 months in total (I moved between cou...
