Re: My AHI is between 10-15; Is it acceptable ?
Hi, My AHI was below 5 for 3 months when I started. Then it deteriorated badly, and recently it has been between 10-15. Is this normal and acceptable ? I am treating a Sinus issue, and do not know if this is the cause for higher AHI. Any advice or suggestions ? Thanks, Raymond What AHI is normal an...

Re: Now have central apnea since starting CPAP therapy
Has anyone ever tried Somniflex sleep strips? They cover the lips to keep the mouth closed and have a small vent hole to allow some air exchange. I Googled and can't find anything for "Somniflex sleep strips". Do you have a link you can share? The other thing I've been trying lately is the Ultimate...

Re: Now have central apnea since starting CPAP therapy
Is your doc aware of the CAs? If they are real CAs (not false positives while awake), your managing healthcare provider may decide to wait a while to see if they get better vs changing you from APAP to CPAP or a different type of PAP altogether. Lowering EPR to 2 sounds like a good next move. It wil...

I keep reading not good things about Apria. As Pugsy said, they are responsible for sorting this!

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset just started making wheezing soun
Does it sound like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=naaezJEujSU Supposedly that is the sound of a defective or failed pneumatic block. My AirCurve 10 Vauto made that sound one morning after I changed from standard filters to less porous third party hypoallergenic filters. I went back to the mor...

Re: Cpaptalk.com vs Apneaboard.com
Google search results searching for cpap related queries should speak for that fact. I did notice that Google ranks CPAPTalk as a much greater authority than Apnea Board. ...whereas over there, they play the 'secret agent game' with 'supplier 15, go look it up' stuff. The funny thing is, they say t...

Re: Any man here that choose AirSense for Her?
I did. It was less expensive at the time when I was buying, and there didn't seem to be any downside since the "for her" algorithm is optional.

Re: Cpaptalk.com vs Apneaboard.com
Another key difference between the sites, in my brief experience on both, is that there are some voices which dominate conversations there and that some of the oft-repeated dogma issued by those voices isn't well founded. For example, there is a strong push there for someone with CSA to be put on AS...

Re: Cpaptalk.com vs Apneaboard.com
Your choice. Which group of people seem to meet YOUR needs the best? What I find interesting is that we don't censor "apneaboard forum" at all here. Go try to type in "cpaptalk" forum and see what happens. Good point. Also evident in the fact that the admin there locked the thread about this topic ...

It's funny...I have had a chance to talk a lot of Respironics users into trying the ResMed...I think only one person wanted to go back to Respironics. I'm one of those people. To be honest though, I don't really notice much difference. The ResMed has a nicer screen, and sometimes I have to push the...

Re: Why are my numbers so much higher with a FFM?
I usually use nasal pillows, but the other night I had a stuffy nose and had to use my backup FFM (Simplus). Halfway through the night my nose unplugged enough to switch back to the pillows. But my AHI for the first half of the night with FFM was annoyingly high at 17(possibly 24, depending on when...

Re: Switching away from a full face mask
I moved to pillows as I found it much more comfortable and essentially did not leak. Conquered mouth leaking by using the Ultimate Chinstrap. Eight years and still loving it. Ted, thanks for encouraging me to try the Ultimate Chinstrap. Last night was my first night with it, and I liked it a lot. V...

Sounds like they sent you the wrong liners. The ones for that mask shouldn't cover your mouth.

You are getting enough tidal volume without PS, so if you are comfortable, go ahead. Your o2 is a very flat line, everything looks good. Were you getting CA with desaturations when PS was used? Other than that I would have thought the auto machine would have kept the obstructive stuff sorted. A PS ...
