what could happen if one was to use this machine instead of the Adapt? Could it actually hurt you?

I recently purchased a Resmed S9 VPAP S Bi-level with H5i and I can't get all of the settings input due to the machine my physician tried me out on was a Resmed S9 VPAP Adapt.
