Re: Does an expert mind looking at my cpap data?
Just in case you hadn't heard yet, but it applies, back-sleeping vs side(s) provokes many more events, and lots of hypopneas will show up if you're prone to them, so making an effort to not back sleep (lots of tricks to try) might be an idea. Thanks for the response. It's tough. What's your favorite?

Re: Does an expert mind looking at my cpap data?
Hi Jimbud, thanks for the comment. I'm familiar with sleep paralysis, and have had it in the past a time or two, but I don't ever experience it anymore. My guess would be that this is not sleep paralysis. Appreciate the help though.

Re: Does an expert mind looking at my cpap data?
Happily I finally found a way to make this forum more useful. You can actually hide the messages of trolls by going to their profile -> "Add Foe", and their useless comments will disappear. Now all the virulence of this forum can finally disappear and we can get back to actually improving people's s...

Does an expert mind looking at my cpap data?
I don't feel well. It's been about two years now and I've had several surgeries and procedures on my throat. My AHI started at around 40 and now its down to 1, but I'm a skinny person and it seems like the hypopneas are mostly my problem. Last night was a typical night; slept about 10 hours and not ...

Nikkwong: you might be happier on another forum, where feelings outweigh help. No, let's be honest and be able to properly call a spade a spade. There is absolutely no reason why responses need any tones of condescension/arrogance etc in them. Newcomers to this forum are visiting CPAPTalk because t...

Re: OT: constant cyber-harassment
Personally I hate Palerider's snark remarks. I am certain that my experience mirrors many: I came to this board when I was at my weakest and my health condition being the most precarious. I found that Palerider's comments were often tangential and his attitude was always condescending. It made me fe...

Re: Treating UARS after surgery, MAD and possibly aPAP failure. Looking for advice on how to proceed.
Hey; Your situation sounds remarkably close to mine. You might want to look into the lingual tonsils and/or epiglottis. I did some searches on the web and found dr kerizians blog on how the epiglottis can contribute to 10% of sleep apnea cases and not respond well to CPAP treatment. I emailed him an...

Re: Anyone have tips for sleeping absolutely prone?
Hi guys, I am curious as to see if anyone has any advice on how to go through the night sleeping absolutely prone; with the goal of keeping my face parallel to the ground. I am willing to move my mattress around, cut holes, do interesting things with pillows, etc. I've tried sleeping on a massage t...

Re: Anyone have tips for sleeping absolutely prone?
I sleep alone ('cept for my cat) and so can get away with this - I cut a 3" wide, 4" deep and 1' long 'trench' in my memory foam mattress starting at the head and going towards the foot, with an electric knife, and rounded top edges with scissors. I have a FF mask and when sleeping on my front with...

Re: Tea Tree Oil
Can't speak as to what science believes, but—I was chronically congested until I started putting several drops of tea-tree oil in my humidifier and smothering it onto my air filter, every night. The air that enters my nasal pillows is very pungent, and can be unpleasant if i pour a bit too much in, ...

Re: possible reason for clogged nasal passages?
4. Tea tree oil—sprinkled on the CPAP filter, and, if you're daring, a few drops in the CPAP's humidifier. what's the skinny on doing this. I think somethign like this would help me, do you just get some essential oils and drop it on the filter? is there a brand or types of oil that people have bet...

Re: Anyone know any good ENT surgeons with some availability?
It's just so incredibly frustrating. So many ENTs tell me they can't help me—and, I respond, what do you suggest I do then? They usually suggest retitrating the CPAP. After I tell them I've done that at every pressure level in increments of .2, they usually just look at me confused and hurry me out ...
