Re: Can someone help me with these flow rates?
Hi everyone, So I have been experimenting with my cpap different pressures, upt it slowly. Still feel very tired and I will see my sleep doc next month. In the mean while I thought maybe someone could help me. Most nights my AHI is low but I have these strange flow rates can any one tell me if they ...

Re: Can someone help me with these flow rates?
haha yes its so crazy there should be universal guidelines but that is difficult in the medical world. I think the U.S does better by immediately giving the CPAP because it is the golden standard, whereas here they try to make therapy more comfortable by giving a MAD or small surgery so you do not n...

Re: Can someone help me with these flow rates?
Jjulie: yes my dentist told me about all the risks pro's and cons of the device. She told me that I have a very strong jaw so should not worry about it. But I agree with you, it starts hurting my teeth! Here in the Netherlands, the protocol is for mild, moderate apnea you first get assigned a MAD or...

Re: Can someone help me with these flow rates?
Thanks for the replies ! Julie:I havent tried that yet. Sounds like a good idea. I have the MAD doesn't that do the same thing with prevending the jaw to fall and narrowing the throat? Ajack: ah I see, thought it had something to do with that. Its strange that it showed another pressure reading but ...

Can someone help me with these flow rates?
Hi all, I have been using the MAD that my doc prescribed but so far no results. I am meeting him in a couple of weeks and we will be discussing the next step probably cpap. I already bought one and these are my results. My ahi is low however I have the feeling I have a lot of flow limitations. Sleep...

Re: Sleep Institute, Diagnosed mild/moderat Apnea
Julie: Thank you for your advice I can see where you are coming from. However here in the Netherlands RDI is the same as AHI so it includes apnea's hypoapnea's and RERA's. According to the sleepdoctor who is a pulmonologist/ lungdoctor (longdokter in dutch) I do have mild/moderate apnea with most of...

Sleep Institute, Diagnosed mild/moderat Apnea
Hello All, I posted on here before about self treating myself with mild apnea. So I went to the Dutch Sleep Institute(where I got my sleep study). I asked them to review my sleep study again beceause I was still very tired and frequent awakenings during the night, dry throath etc. I had a talk with ...

Re: Sleepyhead shows AHI above 5
These are my sleep study results You can see that in the first 4 hours I have all the events then I wake up and cant go back to sleep beceause of the shitty matrass at my moms place. And then only sleep for 1:20 minutes with almost no event https://www.dropbox.com/s/n5sdngvo21qdov7/Screen%20Shot%202...

Re: Sleepyhead shows AHI above 5
The F & P machine may not do a flow rate that SleepyHead can get. I don't remember what it shows on the F & P software. The compatibility isn't as good for the Icon with SleepyHead. At any rate if it were me I would start with a modest pressure and get myself more accustomed to the pressure and the...

Re: Sleepyhead shows AHI above 5
Here's the deal with cpap...if your wake ups are from some sort of breathing issue as in the airway collapsing somewhat then cpap should help the wake ups but if those wake ups are from something else then cpap isn't going to help. I understand what you are wanting to do here but I wouldn't have ju...

Can you please review the detailed report format shown in this thread for the way to organize the various graphs? http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t103468/Need-help-with-screen-shots.html Pay specific attention to the pressure graph and the statistics on the left side. You slept poorly...is that c...

Re: Sleepyhead shows AHI above 5
Congratulations for following your instincts. It certainly looks to me that OSA could be causing you problems. I would increase the minimum pressure to 15. See the second link below as to how best present your data. Thanks for the advice. What kind of mask would be best for the therapy you think? S...
