Re: Pressure Support Question
I always make my own judgments and consider all aspects. Advice that seems safe and logical usually works out just fine and I have made progress "tweaking" different things - settings, masks, etc. Thanks!

Re: Pressure Support Question
Um, as I mentioned, the prescription by the 3rd party doctor Was pulled out of the air......He clearly stated that even though the sleep studies did Not show a need for high pressures or pressure support, he decided that If I turned on my back, I would require a huge upper pressure and a huge pressu...

Re: Pressure Support Question
I could not sleep at all with a PS of 8 per the prescription - I started at 5, the AHIs at PS of 3-5 were higher - averages of 8-10. As I reduced the PS to about 2, the AHIs decreased and it felt more comfortable to breathe. I do see a conflict with all this, and have been struggling to "work around...

Re: Pressure Support Question
I've used an Auto Cpap for several years. Sleep Study in October 2017 - they said they couldn't get it "perfect" with just the Auto, so I did a Titration with the BiLevel and they were able to get the Events to zero between about 13-16. The doctor decided that since I was not on my back during the s...

Pressure Support Question
In all places where I have seen the Definition of Pressure Support on a Bilevel, it says it is the difference between IPAP and EPAP. But it really isn't. My IPAP is 20 and EPAP is 11, and Pressure Support is 2. PS can be set within its own range. To me it seems pretty much like the EPR on an Auto Cp...

Re: Help Please with Aircurve VAuto BiPap Settings/Night Pain
Starting and having to take Cymbalta at night is definitely part of the problem - just trying to work with it as best as I can since it has eliminated my uncontrolled anxiety...always a down side to everything...

Re: Help Please with Aircurve VAuto BiPap Settings/Night Pain
I am 5'8" but I do weigh twice what I should for my height (been on steroids for autoimmune illnesses for over 6 years). I don't know how to tell if I am hyperventilating. I don't think my Aircurve VAuto has a "Rise Time" setting unless it is called something else - on the VAuto setting I don't see ...

Re: Help Please with Aircurve VAuto BiPap Settings/Night Pain
Ok, sorry - the ResMed machines say Bilevel. But I don't understand when you say they don't have the settings of Trigger, Cycle, TI Min and Max - The ResMed Aircurve has these settings and mine were left at the factory settings. But I am able to change them if needed in the Clinical Settings area. I...

Re: Help Please with Aircurve VAuto BiPap Settings/Night Pain
The flooding with F&P occurs with Manual of 1 and Auto with Climate Control Hose and with a Room Humidifier, etc. I have tried everything - has occurred with 2 of the Aircurve VAutos and 3 of the Airsense 10 Autos - it is an issue with the humidifier functions of those machines with those particular...

Help Please with Aircurve VAuto BiPap Settings/Night Pain
Hi - I have posted before about Humidity and Anxiety Problems. The Humidity Problem is definitely a mask-related problem. No issues unless I try to use any F&P mask, which sadly are my favorite - too much rainout/flooding, and no amount of anything fixes it. So just using/trying mostly ResMed and mo...

Re: How to Solve Humidity Problems
We've looked at several - all we've found locally are really high maintenance, pain to clean ones that spray water into the air-seems like there's 30 steps to cleaning the thing each week). I just am hesitant to spray a bunch of water in my bedroom every night - I may be making the problem worse, es...

Re: How to Solve Humidity Problems
Could my Aircurve VAuto machine and/or Humidifier be broken? Last night I tried Auto (with Climate Control Hose) and Manual with a Setting up to 7 and neither one seemed to provide any humidity at all. Used a ResMed Mirage Nasal Mask. Woke up at least 8 times not being able to breathe and nose closi...

Re: How to Solve Humidity Problems
Leak numbers are usually ok - even with low ones still having trouble with all this. Yeah I cozied everything with those F&P masks - tried literally everything. ResMed Tech said good luck using a F&P mask with the Aircurve or Airsense (he told me I would have to wrap the mask in duct tape (nice)- bu...

Re: How to Solve Humidity Problems
Pugsy - do you mean "Manual"? - I have tried Auto and Manual with up to a 6. The only temp I see I think is the hose temp - some people seem to have theirs high in the 80's - about 77 feels ok with me and that is what it is set on. I have tried 2 other full face - the Simplus which I cannot get to s...

Re: How to Solve Humidity Problems
In Dallas they say our air has been drier than the Sahara Desert for a while. It is extremely dry right now. I am using a heated hose. I have the hose temp set to about 77 because I don't like really hot air. Room temp at night is about 69. We use a/c or heat year-round. what do you mean "set the hu...
