Re: CPAP serial number

A different machine won't have the same serial number as the one you discarded. Serial numbers are unique on every one.

Hopefully you're not trying to get a new machine from one you threw away.

Re: side effect pain?

Do you sleep on your left side? Effective CPAP can make you sleep pretty heavily, and if you're not tossing and turning as much you might be cutting off the blood supply to your arm for extended periods. Of course, left arm tingling is also a big red flag for heart attacks, so you might want to get ...

I put CPAP very low on the "barbarism" scale compared to many other treatments
No doubt. It's way easier to put on a mask to sleep than to put up with any number of other medical indignities.

I'd still rather not, though, so hopefully they'll keep plugging away at the research and science.

Re: AVEO tsd Is is worth trying ?

I strongly disagree with any gadget that discourages or delays effective cpap therapy. I know what you're saying and love my CPAP therapy because it lets me sleep and keeps me, you know, breathing, but it's kind of barbaric and a pain in the ass. I hope we never stop looking for a better solution.

Do you mean that I'm naturally breathing out stuff that could darken a mask? What would that be?
And that's only after a year and a half of use!

Before you get too deep into the rabbit hole, consider starting with the basics. Make sure the hose, tank, and mask, have no leaks you may be missing.
^^ This.

Lay on the bed and do the mask fit test. That will ratchet up the pressure. Check to see exactly where the leak is.

Re: Snoring issue

There are several screening tests online that measure your risk for sleep apnea. Snoring is one of the indicators.

Here's one:

Based on the results you might need to see a doctor who specializes in sleep apnea.

Re: international trip - US Custom clearance

I know it's anecdotal and I'm a big ugly American, but nobody said anything about my CPAP in the very obvious Resmed bag when I went through customs at Narita in 2021.

To be honest, I never thought to check or ask. My bad.

Not to mention sometimes the outlandish comments meant to start trouble are so out there that they just can't go unchallenged because of the risk of someone (think newbie) not knowing any better and they go believing the bullshit being dished out.
I bet that's how Elon feels.

One question I cannot find the answer to is whether the "SDHC card" in a ResMed AirSense 10 machine is compatible with the Apple USB-C to SD Card Reader, or if it needs an adapter?
If it fits, it works.

Re: Does Anyone Hate their CPAP?

Tonight is my 15th night trying to sleep with the cpap and I have not slept at all with it on. The longest I've withstood it on my face is almost 3 hours and it has cost me so much sleep I now feel awful. If anyone hate's their machine as much as I do and feels the cpap is counterproductive to thei...
