- why are the home studies (AHI 18) so much different than this one diagnosis night in the lab (AHI 58)?
Home studies are to lab studies as Apple watches are to 12-lead EKG monitors - inferior.

Re: Travel adapter or converter?

More than likely it is ready to go. Look on your power adapter for an Input section like the one below. If it says 100-240v and 50-60 Hz it will be able to handle anything Europe can throw at it. You'll just need adapters to get your American-style plug to fit into the local outlets. https://lozuk.c...

There's no power light and it's so quiet I'm not even sure.
Both of those things are good when you're trying to sleep.

You'll know it's on when it blows air up your nose.

I do find MyAir a little valuable. I keep an eye on my leaks, because I have trouble adjusting my mask straps and keeping them in place. I don't do that much with OSCAR, because my tread AHI is typically so good.
Same here. OSCAR comes out when there is a problem.

  I call it "fluff"....they make it sound like it is such a benefit that everyone just has to have it and in real life most people don't see that much benefit.
And it didn't even work on my new 11. The bluetooth never connected. I had to enter the serial number manually.

My cell service at my home is really, really marginal, and my AS10 is sometimes unable to communicate with Resmed for weeks at a time.
It's still mind-boggling that all Resmed devices don't have wifi. The payback period on such an investment would have to be very short, and the ROI huge.

Re: Risking surgery with General Anesthetic

I've been under maybe a dozen times for spinal injections, colonoscopies, and three surgeries. General isn't really anything to worry about. If there is any real risk caused by your condition they'll intubate anyway, which makes sleep apnea moot. Anesthesiologists know how to deal with sleep apnea. ...

I thought that I'd try to increase the Ramp Pressure from 8 cmH2O to 13 cmH2O which is closer to my median pressure requirement and saw the AHI reduce further compared to the night before. Love making these small gains!!
Stellar. You're in the zone.

Considering it's less than a month ago, to not feel that level of fatigue and irritability is a miracle.
It seems to me that people with really high untreated AHI adapt more easily to CPAP, maybe because our sleep was so crappy to begin with.

Congratulations. Even though your pressure needs aren't reduced it's still a great accomplishment with lots of other benefits.

Re: Accepted a Luna G3 CPAP; am I screwed?

Any excuse I can use to either claim a defective machine or explain that it isn't working for me and I NEED a Resmed? You can drop paper clips into it until it sparks and smokes. That's what our customers used to do when I worked for a computer maker just north of Austin. Vendors really hate the wo...

Let it run for some hours - 5 or even more.
This. Run it at fixed pressure for 8 hours three or four times.

Re: Suffocating on CPAP

Is it true that once you start using the CPAP Machine you can't get off of it? My Doctor said I could if I lost weight. Starting to use the machine doesn't intrinsically change anything about your medical condition. You can continue to not use it and live (or not) with the resulting medical problem...
