Re: Fisher & Paykel Brevida vs. Opus 360?

Have you tried the new "Headgear with Arms" for the Dreamwear? It completely solved the issue your describing for me and a lot of other users on this board. I picked this up and it's been life changing, in a good way. No more mask slipping and so far no more folliculitis and bumps from the mask tug...

Re: FDA Class !! prescription requirement for CPAP Mask

I don't know if every site requires a prescription. I recently (like 2-3 weeks ago) bought a Brevida mask from cheapcpapsupplies.com and didn't need one. They required a prescription for CPAP machines but not masks. I also tend to buy my Dreamwear mask parts at Amazon, no prescription needed there e...

Re: Central Apnea induced by CPAP therapy?

Thanks Pugsy. I'll leave the max where it is but bump the min to 8.5. Some of my best sleep in the past has been with a min of 9, so I don't think it'll hurt anything. And yeah, I'll keep hoping the miracle sticks. I need better sleep. :P

Re: 19 Year Old Diagnosed Months Ago And Struggling A LOT

By the way since your diagnoses and getting your treatment done, have you been feeling much better? The biggest issue for me is the feeling of tiredness all the damn time haha, so thats what i'm hoping to have treated once I get everything locked down. Absolutely. Before getting the T2D and Sleep A...

Re: After Washing New AirFit F30 Mask Smells!

As Tomkatt said add vinegar. I wash my mask in clear Dawn (unscented). Then I rinse well. I have a large plastic salad bowl that I soak my cushion in water for an hour or so. That's when I would introduce the vinegar. I then rinse well, dry off the cushion then I wipe down the mask with a baby wipe...

Re: Central Apnea induced by CPAP therapy?

Well, it looks like miracles do happen. :D

Only particularly bad thing I noticed is that I had a bit more snoring than usual. Not *too* bad from the look of it, but I'm wondering if I need a bit more minimum pressure to stop that. Any thoughts?

Re: Nostrils inflating on inhale.

New user here, trying to get used to CPAP, using a nasal pillow mask (p30i). When the pressure gets to about 7, my nostrils start inflating on inhale (especially at the end of inhale). I've read that subtle movements like this will eventually weaken the cartilage, leading to easily collapsible nost...

Re: Central Apnea induced by CPAP therapy?

Then try AFlex at 1 and lets see what happens. I have seen miracles happen with as little as 1 cm change in the pressure support that bilevel (which is what exhale relief does)....so maybe you will see a miracle. ... Also...the next time you have a night where you don't sleep so great...reach over ...

Re: Central Apnea induced by CPAP therapy?

Oh, and regarding your reply on the other forum, I can't sleep without some exhale relief. I tried it previously but the pressure is too much and I start feeling choked for air. I can go as low as A-flex 1, but turning it off doesn't work for me. Generally I keep it at A-Flex 2. I'll try setting it ...

Re: Central Apnea induced by CPAP therapy?

Any new medications? Change in dosage of old medications? The nights that are really ugly.....did you sleep soundly or have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep? Spend much time with the mask and machine on? I think I posted this link in your other forum post thread. http://freecpapadvice.com/s...

Re: Central Apnea induced by CPAP therapy?

Okay, I wasn't sure exactly what to include, so I've added a couple of recent bad nights that are about par for the course (around 12-14 AHI, I seem to be ranging anywhere from 7 to 20, but the really high nights involve waking up and disconnects). I've linked a few bad nights below, the last time I...

Re: 19 Year Old Diagnosed Months Ago And Struggling A LOT

Congrats on your first night making it through with CPAP therapy. As you've seen, sleep apnea isn't just an "old person disease" or necessarily tied to obesity. I was pretty fit when I got my diagnosis at 34 years old. 5'8", 173 lbs, and working out with heavy weights at least three times a week. No...

Re: New AirFit F30 Mask Smells!

By the way, I’ve always used a half Dawn and half a Pure Palmolive liquid dish soap for my other nasal and pillow masks and never had any smelly silicon problem. So HELP!!! I sure would appreciate your input! Try adding a touch of vinegar to the cleaning solution; might neutralize the smell. How mu...

Re: Central Apnea induced by CPAP therapy?

How about filling in your machine and mask in your profile...Then download Oscar and show us a couple charts of you average night. How long has this increase in Centrals been showing up? Unless your AHI is 7-10 with mostly Centrals, I doubt that what you are seeing are real Centrals. If you post so...

Central Apnea induced by CPAP therapy?

I was diagnosed in 2017 with Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Since I've been on CPAP therapy I've noticed a high number of central apneas that were not apparent when I was diagnosed. I assumed it's a side affect of the CPAP therapy or just a bad reading on the machine. But lately the number of centrals (or...
