Re: The Modem Thingy on your CPAP machine
Hi newbie here, My Resmed Airsense 10 had a modem that is hidden and built in. The data supposedly uploads each day- which is why I'm able to either use the myAir app in my phone or on the internet to see my basic score. The modem connection is indicated by the bars on the screen showing the amount ...

Re: CPAP FOR PULMONARY HYPERTENSION
to xxyzx. More of your idiot comments. Oxygen is transported in the blood. How else would it get there. Take a course in being polite and checking before you mouth off. I understand you are the class moron here. === you are the idiot of course the blood carries hemoglobin to which oxygen is attache...

Re: CPAP FOR PULMONARY HYPERTENSION
Just in case someone with high systemic blood pressure has read some of the above and is worried about pulmonary hypertension, the "blood pressure" associated with pulmonary hypertension is a completely different thing. What people most commonly mean when they talk about blood pressure is systemic ...

Re: CPAP FOR PULMONARY HYPERTENSION
Maybe it's no point in saying this but regarding its rarity:
Hypertension:3 million cases per year
Pulmonary hypertension: 200,000 cases per year.
It's okay to be incorrect once in a while. That's life and accepting it is being an adult. I admit when I'm wrong all the time! No big deal

Re: CPAP FOR PULMONARY HYPERTENSION
"Heart pumps blood not oxygen"?? The heart pumps blood that CARRIES OXYGEN throughout the body. You even said it yourself in your previous comments? "The heart pumps blood that carries oxygen attached to hemoglobin."- your quote. You are correct it is high BP but this condition is a more specific ty...

Re: CPAP FOR PULMONARY HYPERTENSION
Interesting your idiot comments. Do not reply with a statement from MAyo on exactly what i told you. It is high BP in the lungs and it is caused from thickened arteries going heart to lungs. There is not enough oxygen being pumped. That is why I am on the cpap machine. Do not comment on what you do...

Re: CPAP FOR PULMONARY HYPERTENSION
I may be incorrect but I think the pumped oxygen the OP is talking about isn't regarding the act of breathing in oxygen and that whole process. I think she is talking about the lungs as organs need blood flow to work (and yes, oxygen) in the same way the stomach has vessels feeding it blood/oxygen t...

Re: Favorite Nasal Pillow Mask?
Aww that's sweet of him indeed!
Yeah I'm most likely going with the P10. I know it has some flaws such as stability like you mentioned, as well as the lack of a swivel at the hose. Don't know if either are really dealbreakers.
Any chance there's going to be a P20 soon?

Favorite Nasal Pillow Mask?
Hello- I've only just begun therapy and have started with the Resmed N20 nasal mask. I've decided while it's early that I want to try a nasal pillow mask since I have had success sleeping and breathing through my nose. (If I don't like it I can still go back) What are some of your favorite nasal pil...

Re: Any way to tell if you are a mouth breather?
I also debated what mask to start with when I got my CPAP last week. I have often caught myself mouth breathing during the day but I wasn't sure if that was because I wear a surgical mask most of the day. I started with the N20 nasal mask and luck would have it, my mouth stayed closed. I am now cons...

Re: First night on APAP went from 33 AHI to 1?!
Glad to hear of your success so far! How did you feel after the second night? Thank you! Second night I got <1 AHI! I know it's too early to tell and it's probably the placebo effect but I feel like I'm more alert than I usually am for a weekend. Could be in my mind... maybe not who knows! Things s...

Re: First night on APAP went from 33 AHI to 1?!
Thanks everyone for the encouragement! You're absolutely right, Pugsy. After all the reading around here, I really was preparing myself to have a disappointing few weeks- which is why I was surprised. Perhaps I'm one of those lucky people (I'm sorry everyone else who is struggling...) But like you s...

First night on APAP went from 33 AHI to 1?!
Well just had my first night with my new machine! I went with the Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset (Thanks everyone for the advice!) And a Resmed N20 nasal mask. Pressures set to auto 5-15 cmH20 I practiced with a nap earlier in the day yesterday and had some moments my mouth kept opening so I thought I w...

Re: Newbie here ...lots of questions! Please help
I was also wondering the DME thing. I was told my results and that the facility's DME department would be in contact with my insurance and will set up an appt with me within two weeks. Does this mean when I go to meet them they'll have machines on hand for me to take home or will I choose my machine...
