Re: using cpap after neck surgery....?
well i learned about FFM here as my prior nasal was too loud and keeping my wife awake and leaking. the FFM i'm using now, is great! i just tried the AirFit N30i and my leak rate increased but my AHI was .17. (My AHI average for the past year is .36). So the N30i is an odd fit and I'm now going to t...

using cpap after neck surgery....?
i'm having neck surgery on one side just below the jaw. i've been using a full face mask after difficulty with the pillows leaking. the problem is that the strap for the full face goes right over the surgical site and i won't be able to use it for a while. i do have some pillows and tried one yester...

Re: Using CPAP in hosptial - adding N95 material?
thanks everyone! my pulmonologist is adamant i use it given i'll be coming out of surgery / anesthesia and on pain meds. i will use it. i have a remstar + M that is my backup machine and what i'll use in the hospital. i really liked the idea of taping an entire mask over the inlet but i don't think ...

Using CPAP in hosptial - adding N95 material?
I'm having surgery and will be in the hospital 1-2 nights. In an abundance of caution re Covid (I am vaccinated) I am considering not using the CPAP so I can wear my own mask. The idea I'd like some input on is this: to put some N95 material in place of the filter. Has anyone done this and if so wha...

new odd noise - AirSense 10 & AirTouch F20
I've been using the AirSense 10 AutoSet for years. Last December I moved to the AirTouch F20 Foam Full Face mask due to noise from the nasal pillows and the change was amazing. However, since then, every now and then - with no obvious pattern, there is, for lack of a better word, a "flapping noise" ...

Re: noise keeping my wife awake - AirSense 10 AutoSet
Jim, you say you are washing your headgear DAILY. I would consider the possibility that it has lost its "spring" due to very frequent washing. Most of us wash our headgear only when necessary, but if you need to wash yours more often, then you need to replace it more often. Elasticity is necessary ...

Re: noise keeping my wife awake - AirSense 10 AutoSet
well last night was the quietest (for both myself & my wife) it's been in months after making a few changes: 1. EPR from 2 to 3. 2. Ramp from auto to 30min. 3. Minimum pressure from 6.60 to 8.00. (my nightly pressure was mostly about 8 so moving to this level was suggested earlier in this thread - t...

mask options in AirSense 10 machine
there are 3 options in the menu based on the type of mask one uses: pillow, nasal & full. does anyone know what the different settings actually due to the air output from the machine? does the larger masks get more of something than a smaller one? as the pressures have to be the same with any mask j...

Re: noise keeping my wife awake - AirSense 10 AutoSet
well this gets interesting... 2 nights ago, i tried an old (but new) Ultra Mirage 2 Nasal Mask to see if that would help. (I really liked that it fits better on my head than than the swift - which is often slipping despite washing my ace every night and washing the headgear every day as well as that...

Re: noise keeping my wife awake - AirSense 10 AutoSet
The consideration here is whether it is the volume or change in volume that is disturbing and even if it is venting noise. By increasing the minimum the noise may be more consistent but not less. Most of this night you were above 8, if the other nights are the same then I would head toward that num...

Re: noise keeping my wife awake - AirSense 10 AutoSet
One thing I noticed is that the breaks in your night are right after the machine has increased pressure. The normal venting rate also increases with pressure. You may be sensitive to the changes. An increase in the minimum may decrease these changes. I tried the Swift Fx when I first started and wi...

Re: noise keeping my wife awake - AirSense 10 AutoSet
Make sure the water chamber is completely inserted fully and tight. If it is still noisy remove the chamber and look inside at the seals/gaskets in the back and make sure there is no crimping. Your wife shouldn't be hearing Darth Vadar like noises if that is what she is hearing. checked it last nig...
