Re: Exact criteria for COPD diagnosis
FYI - according to the Mayo Clinic site, COPD is often misdiagnosed. It looks like what they do is a series of tests and if other things are ruled out, then it's COPD. That seems too generalized, but WAS true when my Dad was diagnosed around 2002. I would think they have a better handle on it now t...

Re: Exact criteria for COPD diagnosis
Don't have an answer to your question, but in regards to your CPAP use, does your machine have the filters for allergens and are you using them? Just thinking every little bit helps. I have no allergies at night but feel them almost as soon as I take off my mask. I do have filters and change them r...

Re: Exact criteria for COPD diagnosis
The very short answer is that your FEV1 is low as would be FVC as well. That seems to be the main feature, though other symptoms/signs would eventually be seen in time. There's a lot of info on Google, however, probably more and maybe more accurate than our guesses would be... seeing as we're all a...

Exact criteria for COPD diagnosis
Does anyone have details on the exact criteria used by doctors to diagnose COPD? My doctor diagnosed me with COPD (years ago) but I'm a little skeptical in detail? I have had a 2 sleep studies and do clearly have sleep Apnea - but it doesn't bother me that much, I do snore and my wife complains abou...

Re: Eucalyptus Oil in Humidifier for Sinus cure
Alanin AZ sorry, I did not intend to offend. My apologies. No problem! I don't get offended easily - just surprised sometimes. I'm new here - so maybe I don't get how the forum works yet. I do understand there is a good degree of concern that people not try out anything dangerous to their health (o...

Re: Eucalyptus Oil in Humidifier for Sinus cure
I have an outlier opinion......if you wouldn't drink it, why would you want to breathe it. This is getting a bit weird, maybe we all just need more air? I do drink wine but I'm pretty sure I'd regret breathing it in - but worse than that I don't deliberately drink air - so am I just totally screwed...

Re: Eucalyptus Oil in Humidifier for Sinus cure
The problem with adding anything to the humidifier tank is that if it is too strong, you are up in the middle of the night, scrubbing the tank until the smell is gone. Been there! Not fun. Far better to put an oil on something that can be moved farther away until the scent is tolerable. I specifica...

Re: Eucalyptus Oil in Humidifier for Sinus cure
Does it really sound like SPAM to you? Really? I have used Olbas oil for decades - found it in the UK when I lived there used it long before I was ever diagnosed with COPD. It was not so easily available here in the USA until the last ~10 years - but now it is. Before you doubt it too much or put ot...

Re: Eucalyptus Oil in Humidifier for Sinus cure
I know this is a very old thread - anyway I have not used Eucalyptus oil directly but I have used Olbas Oil* for many years as a decongestant with good effect. Breathing the vapors from a cloth/tissue sprinkled with a few drops or a few drops on your pillow/night clothing is the traditional method. ...

Re: Test User's Overview of Apnicure's Winx system
I am willing to sell it for $500 including the accessories . I am pretty sure one can get new hoses mouthpieces etc from the mNufacturer . I think this is a legitimate product and wish the manufacturer well. I'd be very interested in this option - sent you a PM - but not sure it has sent properly h...
