Re: ready to quit! HELP!!!
It took me a few weeks of use before I felt I could sleep "at all" with CPAP. It took me a few months (and trying 3 different masks) to feel comfortable and sleep through the night without waking. Now I can't imagine sleeping without it. It has become part of my bedtime ritual to rinse and refill th...

Re: Can the machine really sense or is it the program
The machine can sense the change in resistance when you breathe in and out even with the 7 feet of hose. It can also distinguish between not breathing with an open airway and not breathing with an obstructed airway. I'm sure that the machine's ability to do this is a combination of pressure sensors ...

Re: Problem with Resmed 10 Airsense Autoset
The only time I get a musty, metallic smell from my Airsense is when my water tank has run dry.

LSAT has sold many machines in this forum. I don't recall anyone ever posting that they were not satisfied with a transaction.

Re: What caused you to seek medical help,....
I changed doctors. In my first meeting with my new doctor we started talking about what was going on with me. He said, "Hmmm... you fall asleep in movies, you're sleepy during the day, you're always tired, you fall asleep immediately upon going to bed, you've gained weight, you're depressed, you hav...

Re: WOW...Now Amazon
I did order this from Amazon and just got back into to town to check it out. It came in standard Resmed packaging, was a 0 hour machine, had everything it was supposed to have: ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset, humidifier, slimline hose. I used it for a one hour nap this afternoon and it worked as it was ...

I'm very much of the school "do what works." We're all different with different needs. I'm glad you've found the combination that works for you!!!

Re: Nasal Pillows for Mouth Breathers
I breathe through my nose just fine during the day, but most of my life that wasn't true. I had a septoplasty about 15 years ago and that cleared up my problems breathing through my nose. However, I was still breathing through my mouth at night. I use nasal pillows and the Resmed chin strap (a very ...

And I've been around long enough to know that xxyzx seems to get a kick out of riling people up and simply needs to be ignored. "Don't feed the troll" - Internet saying that points out that responding to troll comments (those meant to rile people up) gives the troll more attention and increases the...

Re: Buying a machine,, need help please
The Resmed S9 Autosets are great machines. If you are looking to save a few hundred dollars that would be a very good choice. Their price has gone down because there is a newer version - but the S9's are still used by many of us on the forum.

Re: 6 weeks in, no improvement whatsoever, losing all hope.
I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time. I encourage you to share your concerns regarding CPAP with your psychotherapist - I assume you have discussed your suicidal thoughts with your therapist. It can be really hard to find the right mask and the right tension on that mask that works for you....
