Re: Options to buy a second machine?
If your Mom goes to the hospital, take your machine WITH YOU. Chances are, you may end up spending the night as I did on several occasions. Make sure that you have a safe extension cord in your machine bag to plug your machine in so that you can sleep there. In the ICU, it wasn't a problem as my co...

Re: Options to buy a second machine?
Fortunately, I found someone on here willing to sell me the exact machine I have, with low hours on it. So I'm good. And if my sleep doctor turns around and decides to pull the rod out of her... nether regions... then CPAP.COM will also ship me the cheap one that I tried to order... But... better to...

Re: Options to buy a second machine?
(By the way, I have appealed and told them the whole story, so maybe they will have a change of heart. Here is one idea that would work with my DME, can't say about yours. I would call them to say I am coming by tomorrow to get a copy of my prescription (this would be your script for current machin...

Re: Options to buy a second machine?
The original one came through the insurance company. So it was not cpap.com. And I'm not sure how to go around the sleep lab because they're the only ones that would write the script.

Options to buy a second machine?
So, my Mom was recently diagnosed with lung cancer, so I’m going to be traveling between NH and NC rather regularly. Because of this, I’d like to get a second machine that I can leave there rather than having to haul mine back and forth. I have TRIED ordering one from cpap.com, but when I asked my s...

Re: Opinions on partial night therapy
and you aren't the first person to call it a SIM... or smart card... Not that it makes it OK, because I'm the first to make sure I correct my grammar even if quoting someone who used incorrect grammar... but I believe someone else had said SIM card, which is what put it into my head. Liam, not so m...

Re: Opinions on partial night therapy
When I started therapy last summer, I ended up pulling off the mask half way through the night. It takes time to get used to the noise, the mask pulling and twisting as you sleep, and multiple other sources of irritation last lasted the first couple months. I fear that if someone had told me in tho...

Re: Opinions on partial night therapy
don't order a SIM reader, since a SIM is a "Subscriber Identity Module" for a PHONE. you need a SD card reader. avaliable at any camera shop, electronic store, or amazon. It is a measure of how tired I am that I made this mistake. I know the difference, quite clearly. My computer NEVER had a SIM re...

Re: Opinions on partial night therapy
Thank you, that's EXACTLY where I am right now. I am not looking at it from the standpoint of "what is the danger of partial night vs full night", I'm looking at it as "Hey, at least I'm getting partial treatment, which is better than the no treatment I WAS getting, and would be getting again if I c...

Re: Opinions on partial night therapy
I downloaded the 64 bit version last night, both executables have an error in them and come up as "not valid Windows executables". So then I downloaded the 32 bit and they seemed to run OK. But the next problem is that my computer no longer has a SIM card reader in it, so getting the data is going t...

Re: Opinions on partial night therapy
And even when one passes on some "wisdom", ya gotta pull teeth to get a MF thank you. For those who have offered honest help and guidance, I thank you. So I'm not sure if that was aimed at me or not, but I *DID* offer thanks to the people who honestly thought they were trying to help. Just frustrat...

Re: Opinions on partial night therapy
If your desats aren't horrible... That's one nice thing from both of my sleep studies. Although I have 35-40 events per hour when on my back and not CPAP'd, my O2 sat never drops significantly. I'm not getting sufficient sleep, but I'm not particularly damaging my organs. Which maybe also changes w...

Re: Opinions on partial night therapy
You have not expressed a willingness to view or share any data from your machine.if you were to download Sleepyhead and review your data and post it here you might find some clues to improve your experience. As for other problems OSA AFIB seems to go together. So if you don't already have AFIB or o...
