Palpitations While Trying to Sleep?
Hi guys, it's been a while. I posted on here some months ago when I was first starting CPAP contending with a massive dry mouth issue and a few other things. I've appreciated the advice I've gotten from here about that and was able to remedy that issue. Now I have a new issue. Let me begin by saying...

Re: CPAP Side Effects Getting Worse
Thanks for the quick reply. To answer your question, my sleep study revealed that my AHI was around 130, bad enough that my treatment had to be expedited and I have become something of a legend at both my provider and DME. Interestingly enough I plan to size down on the mask here in the next couple ...

CPAP Side Effects Getting Worse
Hey everyone. My issues with CPAP have been increasing steadily over the months since I began therapy in April. I first started CPAP with a nasal mask at a flat 20cm of pressure and that was just about completely impossible to sustain due to me being a mouth breather. After talking to my DME and pro...

Re: Extremely Dry Mouth w/ FFM
Mask cushion is actually brand new. It lowered the leak rate significantly, to it's lowest of 59 L/min but it still remains a significant leak. I was wondering if anyone had ideas on what to use for a liner? If you were to cut up an old T-shirt would you just line the contact patch of the mask with ...

Re: Extremely Dry Mouth w/ FFM
Thanks for the replies. I'm actually not on any other medications. I breathe through my nose when I am falling asleep/active through the day but when I fall asleep my mouth will open no matter what I do. I was using the F&P Eson nasal mask with a chinstrap the first two weeks of my therapy and it wa...

Extremely Dry Mouth w/ FFM
Hi guys. I'm using the ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset w/ an F&P Simplus mask. I'm just getting into my second month of therapy. I'm on 15.0 - 20.0 for pressure. Humidifier is set to 7 and hose is set to 82 degrees. I have always had a bit of dry mouth with the machine but its been manageable. About 5 da...

Re: 100+ AHI and New to CPAP
Thanks for the words of encouragement Lowspark, it seems we are in a somewhat similar situation. I turned off the ramp on my machine to test the theory on this and it goes straight to 20cm and stays there. The pressure is somewhat tolerable but I find that when I'm falling asleep that my mouth is ki...

Re: 100+ AHI and New to CPAP
I wish I was mixed up but it's true. I have ramp time set to auto and the ramp itself is set to 14 while the actual pressure setting is 20. I can sleep through the 20 but the second I wake up, like I said earlier, the feeling is intense. I can believe I need a better machine, having looked at the Ai...

Re: 100+ AHI and New to CPAP
In the sleep study I seemed to tolerate the mask and pressure fairly well so they just went with it. I haven't had a whole lot of choice in this entire process. They've just been handing me things and telling me to go with it lol.

100+ AHI and New to CPAP
Hi everyone, I've been perusing these boards for a while but now I'm getting around to posting because I've began my own therapy on a ResMed AutoSense 10 w/ a nasal mask. I'm just about done with my first week. I'm heavier set with a small windpipe so my AHI has consistently been over 100 and as hig...
