Woke up to find I had ripped open mouth tape with my mouth
Just curious if anyone can guess at what was happening around 5 AM to me. I woke up at 5 AM or so to discover that my paper mouth tape had been ripped open by my mouth. I am surprised I was even able to do this. The tape was still firmly attached on all sides, it just had a hole where me opening my ...

Hmm I've read reports like this that make it sound like it's an open issue. https://www.propublica.org/article/philips-recall-machines-chemicals-of-concern?_sp=278114c9-b3b5-475f-b18a-efd709a6458b.1784295787305 https://www.mddionline.com/regulatory-quality/concerning-chemicals-found-in-replacement-p...

Does old paper tape get more sticky/harder to remove?
I tend to buy the Nexcare Gentle Paper First Aid Tape in packs of six. I've noticed in the past six months some problems. Tension blisters on one side of my mouth, or actual raw areas on the other, like the top layer of skin was pulled off. The tape seems difficult to peel off in the morning. I am h...

Re: CPAP Class Action Lawsuit Settlement
What is the deal with the refurbished Dreamstations they sent out to replace units like my System One? Are they safe to use? I thought I read something about them having a foam problem too. Should I just throw it out? Hate to waste such an expensive machine, but to say I don't trust Philips is an un...

High pitched air noise when first turning AirSense 10 on
Recently I have noticed, regardless of mask, that when I first turn on my AirSense 10, for a few seconds it makes a high pitched noise as pressure is increasing. The pitch rises then suddenly the noise is gone. It is not a mechanical whine, but more of an "air being forced through a really tight spa...

Re: Anyone with nose cartilage shaved to fit pillow?
Yeah I am using a Dreamwear nasal cushion at the moment (N30i leaks like crazy) while I wait months for the actinic keratosis cut to heal. It seems to be irritating the area just below my nose. Tried DreamWisp and it gave me a pressure sore on the bridge of my nose. I've learned I need to have multi...

Re: Anyone with nose cartilage shaved to fit pillow?
I have a cartilage bump on the inner rim of my nostril which has caused me a lot of pain off and on from nasal pillows rubbing on it. I went to the dermatologist in case it was not cartilage and he found and sliced off a hypertrophic actinic keratosis at the same spot. What are the odds of that? How...

Re: What is the best nasal CPAP mask for not leaking?
Thanks. I have tried the Amara View and the Hybrid and both leaked like crazy around the cheeks. Could not even get it to stop while I was awake never mind asleep. I will keep this mask in mind but it has no top attachment which typically is a big problem for me since I am a very active sleeper.

Here's another alternative way to deal with sores that works well and does not cause a leak in the cushion seal. https://www.amazon.com/Nexcare-Sensitive-Skin-Trauma-Tape/dp/B01MU03KKO/ref=asc_df_B01MU03KKO/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=416711462567&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=13532408908375387405&...

Re: Dream Wisp and sores on nose bridge
Switched to another type of mask for 3 nights, cleaned the DreamWisp, cleaned my nose right before bed, loosened the mask as much as possible, used DreamWisp again for 2 nights...angry red line again on the bridge of my nose. No, there is definitely something wrong with this mask, as many others hav...

Curious what you mean by "pretty good". Do you clean it every day as the manufacturer says? Once a week? Less often? Thanks.

DreamWisp worked great with no large leaks.
Unfortunately after two nights it is giving me a big red sore line across the bridge of my nose....

Re: Dream Wisp and sores on nose bridge
After two nights with DreamWisp I have an angry red line across my nose, about 2/3 of the way up. And by "line" I mean 1/2" wide and 1" long. Lanky Lefty in his review of this on youtube mentioned it made him break out across the bridge of his nose, something no other mask ever did. He said he fixed...

Re: Wash Before First Use???
The manufacturer specifically says "Let the mask components air dry completely," contrary to someone's "common sense."
That said, they also say to hand wash all non-fabric parts every day. I don't see being able to do that unless and until I'm retired. I'm often late to work as it is.
