Re: Rudeness

Unfortunately I don't think this forum bans users except for SPAM. The rudeness and character assaults add unnecessary noise making it difficult to extract the buried useful information.

Re: Mouth Breathers

...You can wear a nasal but will need a chin strap if your a mouth breather. ... An experienced RT should try to avoid definitive statements like that. I have sinus allergies. When they cannot be controlled, I need to mouth breathe or not breathe at all. A chin strap would not help me. That is why ...

Re: CPAP Basics - 5 - Insurance and Reimbursement

Not Medicare, just Anthem but they follow many of Medicare's guidelines.
Some replacement times are more flexible, though. The Humidifier tank is "as needed" instead of 6 months, for instance.

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 water reservoir

On mine, the top of the tank flexes downward slightly. I grasp the top & bottom of that end of the tank. A slight squeeze and I can pull the tank out.

Re: Mouth Breathers

Fortunately, I can use the pillow mask most of the time and I do not have a chin strap. I am seeing quite a few mouth leaks now and anxiously await my FFM arriving Monday.

Re: Mouth Breathers

I have been using CPAP for a couple of months. Since I have sinus allergies, I must sometimes mouth breathe. Surprisingly, I have been able to use a nasal pillow mask (Resmed P10) most of the time. I have tried some full face masks. 1. Resmed Quattro Air - I was finally able to get it adjusted leak-...

Re: good insurance- have extra mask parts and heated hoses

Some DMEs like Lincare auto ship if they know insurance will pay. I have Anthem and I think I finally got off their auto order list. Their email says call to order but they ship anyway.

Re: CPAP Basics - 5 - Insurance and Reimbursement

I should have clarified. I am on Anthem insurance, not Medicare. The insurance companies and DMEs seem to base their policies off Medicare guidelines in my experience.

Re: CPAP Basics - 5 - Insurance and Reimbursement

That is a very good document with good definitions. Was it removed dur to updated Medicare rules?

I notice that the DME cannot auto-ship supplies, but Lincare seems to currently do that even though their email says you need to contact them first.

Im trying to load this file but it keeps connecting and then gives this error: An error occurred while processing your request. Reference #97.16829c18.1487608962.415f1f would this be on my end or on the forums? It won't load for me either. This was an old post with an old link and phillips respiron...

Re: Will we ever adjust?

I cannot explain it but I have the venting issue with the Amara View. It almost feels like the air vents & then falls back toward the face & eyes. I have never used the Amara View, but it gets very good user reviews - https://www.cpap.com/productpage/respironics-amara-view-full-face-cpap-mask.html#...

Re: Will we ever adjust?

The person who was complaining about the Amara View blowing into their eyes....I just went and looked at where the vent holes are because I was having a hard time seeing how it was possible to blow in a person's eyes if it was properly fitted and not blocked or deflected by something. So I looked c...

Re: Nasal masks and Nasal problems

FWIW, I have had sinus allergies for years. IT appears I can use a Resmed P10 nasal pillow much of the time, but I feel I need a FFM for when I cannot use the P10.
My F20 full face mask arrives tomorrow. That would give me an option for CPAP when I feel I must mouth breathe.

Re: Sleepyhead and Celluar - Airsense 10

Nope, go ahead put one in. I'm a little surprised it was delivered without one. I'm not surprised. I believe the machine ships with a card, but my DME was not going to install mine until I specifically said my doctor wanted me to bring the card in on my next visit. That's Lin(don't)care for you.
