Re: Six months into CPAP therapy...

After the results of the last titration study, I was prepared to find a hobbit and have him throw my machine into a fiery pit somewhere. Anywhere actually. The doc switched me to a Dreamwear full mask in May which takes a much lower pressure. I feel better than I used too, but this mask leaks badly ...

Re: Six months into CPAP therapy...

Mouth breather, and the nasal pillows are annoying. Can't stand them.

Re: Six months into CPAP therapy...

Six months since last post and figured I would provide an update. I had a titration test done a few weeks ago and they decided to raise the pressure on my machine to 17, and it is constant, not variable like it was before. The technician at the hospital said I woke up constantly all night, without a...

Re: Six months into CPAP therapy...

I have a follow-up next week and will ask to adjust the pressure, I've looked at the data on SleepyHead, if someone suggests what data I should post I'll be happy to seek the advice. This machine will say I've had it on for 8, 9 hours sometimes longer and it feels like I haven't slept at all. I susp...

Re: Nasal mask for narrow bridge

I have a similar problem. Narrow bridge, full mask. They switched me to the AirFit F20 which seems to have a better seal at the top than my previous.

Re: Sores on nose

I had the same issue at first and I tried RemZzz, basically a thin layer of cloth between the cushion and the skin. Didn't really work for me, I couldn't get a good seal and in the morning they were no longer in place since I seem to fight the mask all night long. Might be worth a try to see if they...

Re: Six months into CPAP therapy...

Left for awhile, many other tests done without finding any clear reason for the fatigue. I started waking my spouse up at night like I did before the diagnosis. A new mask helped, although I still fight it with it all night long, every night. I'm about ready to throw this stupid machine off of any t...

Re: Six months into CPAP therapy...

The only medications I'm taking are for asthma. I had been looking at the data on Sleepyhead for awhile, I haven't looked at it closely for a couple of months so I'll take a look again this weekend. The LCD screen and myAir website are a decent indicator but I like to dive into the details if i can....

Re: Six months into CPAP therapy...

Pressure settings are 5 to 12, I'll ask about that next visit. kteague I don't remember asking here before, so I appreciate the info and advice. I am not able to use nasal pillows so I have the full mask. The first mask I used I fought with every night so they switched me to the Air Fit F20. Much be...

Six months into CPAP therapy...

Six months into therapy and I'm waking up exhausted every morning. Machine says one or two minor mask leaks, otherwise I'm on the machine easily seven hours each night. Asthma/sleep doc wants to put me on an anti-depressant but I'm seeing primary care first to see what else may be wrong. Something j...
