Re: Lightest and most flexible tubing?

Slimline and Thin Performance tubing were not what I expected. Lighter but still pretty stiff. They are better than my original Resmed heated tubing though. My ideal tubing would be light and super flexible like the tubing on my Resmed P10 mask. Wish someone would make a long tube like that without ...

Re: Cpap for extended wilderness camping?

Like I mentioned before the Z2 can be run on 12vdc even though Breas does not recommend it. The motor runs slower and lags in response to your breathing. I have no way to measure it but the pressure at the mask is a little less when running at 12v compared to 15v. So therapy is reduced when running ...

Re: What if Optimizing Pressures Doesn't Fix Sleep?

I'll take a look at that book. Another book I have is called No More Sleepless Nights by Peter Hauri PH-D from Mayo Clinic. I've also taken sleep classes at Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. My second sleep doc was at Mayo but he didn't take the time to really help figure out what was going on. He just r...

Re: Cpap for extended wilderness camping?

Here's some results from last night. Used the dc monitor in line with the ac power supply and the Z2 Auto. Zbreathe set to 1. Night 1: Cpap, 7.5cm, 7:08time, 15v x 1.66ah = 25wh Night 2: Cpap, 7.5cm, 7:08time, 15v x 1.65ah = 24wh Night 3: Cpap, 7.5cm, 6:34time, 15v x 1.33ah = 25wh Night 4: Cpap, 7.5...

Re: What if Optimizing Pressures Doesn't Fix Sleep?

Thanks for posting all that lazarus. That is going to be very helpful for a lot of people. I'm one of the unfortunate few that have optimized pressures and been through your entire list of things several times over the years. Addressing all of those things has not resolved my very broken sleep so st...

Re: Cpap for extended wilderness camping?

Here's the readings with the machine running at 7.5cm while I hold my breath so the readings are stable. Did this just to get ball park idea of what it draws when being used. Current draw seems to vary up around 100ma and down 100ma when breathing. Ball park 100-300ma when using the device a 7.5cm. ...

Re: Cpap for extended wilderness camping?

I have a dc meter that measures a number of things. I'll start running it tonight using the original power supply and see what it tells me. I don't have a battery yet. You definitely want to unplug the Z2 when not using it. It draws around 21-23mA in standby mode or around 5wh over a 16 hour day. ht...

Re: Cpap for extended wilderness camping?

Glacierjay that is an awesome review on the GP-14. I've been eye balling that one for some time and like you say it's a bit large, great for a week long car camp though. Thanks so much for posting all the details which helps us all a lot. It sure seems odd that you would only get 2.5 nights from the...

Re: Lightest and most flexible tubing?

Rob - Make sure that you get on of the resmed elbows to go with your tubing. The exit tube on the Z2 is a bit too small to snugly hold many of the hoses. I have a Z2 and found that out as I was trying different hoses. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed-hose-elbow-airsense-cpap-machines I order...

Re: Lightest and most flexible tubing?

I asked cpap.com since they probably have seen it all. They suggested either the Resmed Slimline tubing or the Respironics Thin Performance tubing.

Re: Lightest and most flexible tubing?

Thanks for that link. The Sleepweaver Feather Weight hose looks great. It doesn't have those heavy rubber ends, maybe it does, hard to tell from the photo. Wish it was long and not just 1.5ft

Re: Lightest and most flexible tubing?

If I had one of those hose managers I'd probably end up hung from it with the workout I do in my sleep. I'd probably make the news with that one. Cpap kills guy.

Re: Lightest and most flexible tubing?

Yes unresolved sleep problem. Very active all night, end up in odd positions while I sleep. Wake every half hour to hour on my back when apnea is severe. Have to untangle and readjust everything when I wake. AHI is under 1 most nights. Leaks are low. Have not been able to figure it out with help of ...

Re: Lightest and most flexible tubing?

I've never used a slimline or light hose of any sort. Just the heated hoses that came with my machines, Phillips System One and now Resmed Vauto. Also just picked up a Breas Z2 for travel. Just wondering which replacement hoses are out there that are super light and very flexible.
