Have machines improved?

I purchased my dream station dx500t11 about 5 years ago. It still seems to work well. Have there been any changes over the past 5 years that would be worth looking into?

Should I be concerned?

Here is my report from last night. I had never seen the periodic breathing sections. I went back and looked at a bunch of history, and it never happened, but it has happened 2 nights in a row now. Is this something to be concerned about?

Charts after 1 month

I think I am right at about 1 month of using the CPAP machine. Overall I have had positive results including less afternoon irritability, less need for my ADD medication, and feeling more rested many days. The previous time that I posted a chart, it was suggested that I change my minimum pressure to...

Power Outage

I was wondering what happens to CPAP users during a power outage. If I have my mask on, I find it difficult to breath unless the machine is on. Is it possible to suffocate if you are sleeping with CPAP mask on and the power goes out? I searched the forum for this topic, but most of the questions see...

Re: Thank You

Holy cow. That worked. So this is what sleep feels like. I should have tried it years ago.

I bumped the min up to 8 and that seems to have done the trick. I slept for over 7 hours. No tossing and turning, no waking up, just solid sleep. I can't explain how much better I feel.

Thanks,
BT

Thank You

Just wanted to thank everyone for helping me get started. A little over a week ago, I restarted with my sleep apnea treatment and I came to this board for help. I received great advice from many contributors. I also purchased an auto cpap machine as recommended by someone from this group. I don't kn...

Re: Auto CPAP

Ok, thanks. I did purchase this on my own, so I will fumble a little bit. I do have the manual, so I will figure that out.

Auto CPAP

Just received my new DreamStation. Pretty stoked to use it. Since this is an Auto CPAP, I don't have to worry about the pressure, right? It knows if I need 4, 10 or up to 25. Right? Just wondering if I need to set this up, or if it just runs on it's own.

How long did it take to get used to the mask

I have tried the CPAP machine a few times and have not been able to get used to it. I have a hard time getting used to the mask. I think I have the least obtrusive mask (Respironics Nuance Pro), and I still can't get used to it. I think I am kind of a mouth breathing sleeper even though I breath thr...

Re: No Prescription

Thanks for the information, I appreciate it. The machine I purchased is Apex XT Fit. The mask is a Philips Respironics Nuance Pro. I can set the starting pressure, ramp time and therapy pressure. I have crappy insurance, and I don't want to go through the steps of seeing a Dr, then having to see a s...
