Re: Apnea on *exhalation*
Garth- Yes, the cpap takes care of apneas on both inhale and exhale, providing you have the correct air pressure, and that is determined by your sleep study. It keeps the throat open through pressurized air. I have no insurance either, but I realized I had to take care of this or live a miserable li...

Re: Apnea on *exhalation*
Hey Darth- I haven't been to this site in a long, long time. I'm glad I happened onto you post. I'm like you, all my apneas are on the exhale. I even have trouble in the dentist's chair when it's tipped way back. I just can't exhale. I've been using a cpap for 6 years and it works just fine although...

tombiowami, I can't agree more with the previous posters. Stay away from the dme if you can. The only thing they do is show how to use the machine (not rocket science), then milk you and your insurance Co. for as long as they can get away with it. There is plenty of help here to answer all your ques...

cpap.com
Welcome Bruce, I'am glad you found this forum. There is a wealth of information here and many great people willing to share it. I don't believe you can find cpaps and supplies any less expensive than @ cpap.com. I have just purchased an apap from them plus many masks. Good prices great service. Good...

thanks Gary

flattened pillow
Hey Snoozie, I've had the mini or travel pillow for about two weeks now and have not noticed any change in the thickness. I don't know what the return policy is, but I bet if you contacted them they could help you out. I can understand your concern: without the thickness they don't work as designed....

pressure settings
Ozij, You can access the pressure sensor by pressing the Key and info access buttons at the same time until it displays "apap" or "cpap", then press just the access button several times until you find the sensor setting. Mine is pre-set @ 104. It's the window after "compliance meter value." I wouldn...

hey guys, thanks for the info. Many thanks!
So, thats what those little plugs are for! I thought that they might be used if using the machine in cpap mode. I bet a head phone jack with the wires clipped would work. Maybe Anyway thanks again

PB 420E question
Hi all, I just received my 420E from cpap.com and have set my high and low pressures. On Cpap I use a pressure 12 so I set the high @ 13 and the low @ 9. I had talked this over with my sleep Doc so all is well. What I don't understand is the pressure sensor setting. Default is 104, with a range from...

let the idiots win?
So I guess the idiots win yet again. Valued members no longer willing to share their experience, strength, and hope, because of some no-account. This board has made my life so much more bearable because of the knowledge you all so freely give. To have that threatened by someone so insignificant just...

great sleep Dr!
Hi all, I just had to share a very positive experience I had with my sleep Dr. I've been on cpap therapy for 1 year and felt like I wasn't' responding to it as well as I should. Still tired all the time, some really bad days, couldn't guarantee what I would feel like the next day. Also I've develope...

Kenv, You know, all that said, I wonder if my Dr. new what he was doing. I didn't ask questions I just did it! I wonder if this was just a money maker for him, i.e. $1500 for 20 min. work. Was he using the correct anesthesia? If he would have done a second procedure would that have made a difference?...

somnoplasty
Hi Kenv, I had a somnoplasty done by my ENT Dr. as a treatment for severe snoring. I wasn't diagnosed for sleep apnea at that point but had been told that I really had to "work hard" to sleep. Anyway the procedure itself was very painful even with novacaine and the end result was less than positive....

Hi and welcome KRomeo, Yes, they will fit you with a mask tonight and test you with either a bipap or apap machine to find out what pressure you need to stop the apneas. It's not fun, but you should be happy that there is relief out there for you. Good Luck. I didn't have a choice as to which machin...
