Re: Dry Mouth Problem

Thanks for your reply. Everything is exactly the same, except for the pressures for the BIPAP. My numbers are good. The last 30 days AHI was 1.4. I guess I will keep working at it. I drug out my old Resmed to try for a few days to see it it makes any diference?

Dry Mouth Problem

I have been on CPAP for more than 11 years. Recently, after having been put on BIPAP with a new machine I have been getting horrible dry mouth at night. Waking up with no moisture in my mouth at all. Never had this problem before. I don't know if it is my dream machine or what. I need humidity, but ...

Re: Turning Off or On the CPAP without Unplugging

I don't think so that it turn off until you pull the plug out. I have Phillips Respironics Auto cpap and I too wondered about it. I did a complete reset of all the data. Now it is giving me 0.7 every day for an AHI because the first night after the reset I did get 0.7 which is about right for me. J...

I do that all the time and nothing happens to fix my problem.. Every morning it says my AHI is 2.1. Eight days in a row of 2.1 is not correct. I am usually at 1.0 or lower. What is wrong that it keeps saying 2.1?

Turning Off or On the CPAP without Unplugging

I was toll I needed to do a 'reboot' of my machine which might help fix a problem. They said to first turn the machine off. Then unplug it. Wait 15 minutes then plug it back in and turn it back on. [Almost like a reboot of a computer] How do you turn it off? I have a Dreamstation Bipap. Thanks. Jeff

Re: How to Change Mask Settings on Dreamstation Bibpap?

Thanks again! I am new to all of the BIPAP stuff. Been on straight CPAP for 11 years, then after a sleep study (which medicare demanded) my sleep doc put me on BIPAP. Must say it is working fine at a 18/14 pressure. My AHI's are now for the most part under 2! No more restless legs and I am sleeping ...

Re: How to Change Mask Settings on Dreamstation Bibpap?

That is good to know. I will turn that number to 0. Last night it was in 4 but probably didn't make a difference. I am using a ResMed Mirage activa mask. Thank for the help.

How to Change Mask Settings on Dreamstation Bibpap?

With my old resmed there was a window that allowed me to change from nasal pillows, to nasal mask to full mask. Where can I find it on this new machine. The only thing I could find was a mask fit with numbers from one to five! There has to be away. Thanks.

Re: Bipap Exhale Pressure

Do you have a copy of the results of your sleep study?

Yes I do. Appaprently the lab tech had the bipap set up differently than the one my sleep doc recommended. Any way currently I am happy with my therapy!

Re: Bipap Exhale Pressure

Actually the whole point of the bipap is to reduce the pressure during exhale.
Well it is reduced from 18 to 14. I am just wondering why at the sleep study it felt like it was forcing me to exhale? I was still breathing in when all of a sudden it forced air out?

Anyway I am getting good results!

Bipap Exhale Pressure

I was recently put on a Bipap machine. The one that I was on for my titration study literally forced me to exhale. The one I have now, the Respironics Dream machine does not. I can't tell the difference between the Bipap and my old Cpap. Breathing is easy both ways. Inhale pressure is set at 18, exh...

Re: Finding AHI results on Air curve 10

Thank you both for the help. I wish the AHI would just show up on the screen like it did with my old S-9. Just one button pushed and it would appear. The doc switched me to BIPAP mode after last study. I got two days ago a respironics dream station that I liked. Showed daily AHI, weekly average and ...
