Having Braces As a Kid / Jaw Structure?
Hi everyone! Random question. I had orthodontic work/braces as a child. Shortly after that, I noticed I had sleep issues. Do you think it's possible that the orthodontic procedure might cause sleep apnea? Important consideration. You would think not, except that there IS an oral appliance that treat...

Just How Fatigued Is Fatigued?
Greetings everyone! So, I have a big question. Can sleep apnea, on its own, left untreated or minimally treated- can it cause an extraordinarily dehabilitating fatigue? I'm not referring to a 'sort of tired' type fatigue. I mean, can it cause such a high fatigue that you can't work, cook food, see f...

Could Untreated Mild/Moderate Sleep Apnea Leave One Totally Dehabilitated?
Hi all, I was diagnosed with Mild/Moderate Sleep Apnea For Quite Some Time Now. I try to use my CPAP as best I can, and I've had mixed results with compliance (I'm working on it) But I have to ask: would not using CPAP with Mild/Moderate Apnea really 'cripple' this much? To the point of not being ab...

Imagine Pacemaker?
Hi guys, 27 years old. Have had difficulty with CPAP compliance- have tried for 6 years. Put hair clips in my hair/mask. Do everything to try to put the mask on my face. I've tried a variety of nasal pillow masks- the full face masks have felt way too uncomfortable for me personally. So, I know that...

Sleep Apnea and ADHD? Considering Medication?
Hi all. Have often sometimes had low attention span. Heard there might be a connection to sleep apnea. I'm curious everyone's thoughts on this. Thanks a lot!!!

Re: Getting My Sleep Machine Evaluated Tomorrow- Recommendations?
Ended up bringing the two machines, which really weren't as heavy as I thought they'd be. Though, nothing got accomplished from the meeting. I was using my BNC DreamStar model, a model the clinic doesn't work with. They do work with my older model, the Remstar Philips....except my sleep data was too...

So what's the conclusion then? Bring the machines? (I mean, I'd Reallllyyyyy prefer not to lug those around town unless it truly seems beneficial...)

Re: Getting My Sleep Machine Evaluated Tomorrow- Recommendations?
I can't call, they don't open until I arrive.
I guess the big question is- what data can they get from the machines that isn't simply on the SD card? I thought the SD card had all the information??

Getting My Sleep Machine Evaluated Tomorrow- Recommendations?
Hi all, I will be getting my CPAP machine evaluated for tomorrow to check my sleep data. I'm wondering- do I need to bring in the full machines or will just the SD card suffice??? I have 2 machines, but only one SD card. Please let me know- thanks! (Would prefer not to lug those machines around all ...

Most Recent Sleep Study Came Back Negative
Hi all, My most recent sleep study (2017) came back negative for sleep apnea. This study was performed at a different clinic than the first two studies I had. The first two studies I had done (2011, 2014) diagnosed sleep apnea. The most recent study (2014) detected 17 Apnea–hypopnea index- which dia...

Re: Anyone Else Have Felt 'Crippled' By This Stupid Disorder?
Crippled to me is having your leg blown off be a IED, Or being born with no arms, because your mom took a bad prenatal drug, or being born blind, it's not being tired, being tired is a natural part of life for those that have to work. Jim Yes what you said is true, but I've felt like abnormally rid...

Anyone Else Have Felt 'Crippled' By This Stupid Disorder?
Hi all, So I've been diagnosed with sleep apnea since I was 21, but I was tired even in high school. As of late, I've accepted that I need to use my CPAP machine...but even after consistently using it, I still feel tired. I try to keep the mask on my face, and I'm also now going to try chin straps t...

CPAP Chin Strap
Hi guys, I'm trying to find a chin strap for helping treat sleep apnea mouth breathing. Which ones are good? It's difficult to tell from the Internet: I see this one: https://www.amazon.com/SP-Medical-Super-Deluxe-Strap/dp/B0036F8EYA/ref=sr_1_7_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1519253149&sr=1-7&keywords=cpap+...
