DreamMapper software info question
What exactly is a "disconnect?" My mask fit info always shows no leaks, large or small, but a lot of disconnects. At first, I assumed that was when I was turning off the machine to get up at night, but sometimes the number of disconnects is way, way larger than the small number of times I got out of...

Dreamwear Mask with Nasal Cushion
I'm wondering how other people wear this mask. I've been wearing it over my hair and taking the whole thing off when I get up to go to the bathroom at night. But my hair pushes the strap up and can unsettle the mask (or make it feel unsettled). I've been thinking of putting my hair through it, above...

Re: Need Advice About Adapting to Mask
go a few nights without Afrin and without the APAP to get past the Afrin rebound. That is a poor way to deal with Afrin "withdrawal". Here is the best way to get rid of rebound congestion from discontinuation of Afrin: - Use it in one nostril only. The other nostril will be congested. It should cle...

Re: Need Advice About Adapting to Mask
I don't know what to tell you about your issues with noticing the Darth Vadar sounds more now than you did before. It sounds like your brain is wanting to hyper focus on it because your brain has decided that maybe it doesn't like the mask and is having problems coming to grips with using it. It wo...

Re: Need Advice About Adapting to Mask
I believe if you are a little low in magnesium this can make you a little more tense and sensitive to sound. It goes without saying I am not a Dr and am not advising this but If it were me I might try a long hot bath with a lot of epsum salt. Your body can absorb some of it right through the skin. ...

Re: Need Advice About Adapting to Mask
If you are hooked on the Afrin then you might try eliminating from one nostril at a time so the rebound isn't so bad. Use lots of something like Simply Saline....maybe something like Flonase too. Afrin Rebound is a bitch but you have to quit using it to get past it. Been there myself. You can googl...

Re: Need Advice About Adapting to Mask
1) I can't seem to ignore the sound anymore. My husband claims he can hardly hear it, but to me it sounds like Darth Vader is right in my ears. First, make sure your hose is not lying on your pillow or your mattress. They work as sound conductors, which may be why you are hearing the Darth sounds. ...

Need Advice About Adapting to Mask
I think in my first post I lumped too much together and didn't make clear what I was really asking. So I'm going to try again, in a way that I hope will more clearly communicate where I could use help. Background: When I first started using this Dreamstation contraption, I actually liked it. I found...

Re: 8 months in and a lot of questions!
Well dry throat and headaches sounds to me that the air is going the wrong way. You don't mention what your pressure is set at and could be it is opening your mouth and air is escaping. You may have to consider a full face mask to keep the air escaping out from your mouth. --I don't think I am open...

Re: 8 months in and a lot of questions!
Start with getting the software available to see exactly what might be going on in terms of leak (mouth opening maybe) and AHI and number of disconnects. https://sleep.tnet.com/equipment Dreammapper is reporting no significant leaks ever. My disconnects generally seem to range form 4-9 (does it rec...

Re: 8 months in and a lot of questions!
I'll post more questions when I remember them. You haven't asked any questions. Well, I posted thoughts and am looking for responses. I raised the humidity and heat to the highest level and that seemed to help somewhat, but not always. Most people don't do well on the highest setting. Do you live i...

8 months in and a lot of questions!
Last spring, I was so tired and draggy and foggy all the time (and my husband said I had started to snore a lot) that my doc prescribed an at-home sleep study; it showed apnea (I can't remember the AHI and I can't find the damned paper, but I recall it was between 20 and 25, I think) and fairly sign...
