Re: Where is the relief???
I have been using my cpap for 4 nights now and I feel no different. I called my dr and they told me to call the DME supply location to get my compliance report. Well I called and she said everything looks good. No leaks, no episodes nothing so why am I not feeling relief? Ok I know that 4 days of t...

Secret CPAP....
I'm pretty sure this will be the first post of it's kind Awhile back I did a sleep study with the VA. I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea, 7.1 AHI O2 desat was good. They gave me a ResMed CPAP. I prefer not to disclose the VA treatment to my employer at (for un-related reasons). I had such a hard ...

Re: noobie first post
I was so uncomfortable just because of all this foreign, scary stuff all over me. I was so relentless that night, I wonder how or if that affected my results. That's a common problem with sleep tests - strange environment, hooked up to many pieces of equipment with someone in another room watching ...

Re: After your initial diagnosis did you get to meet w/a Dr.?
IMO, you can get much more help from the members here who are way more knowledgeable about Cpap therapy than doctors appear to be. I agree with Julie that they may know about the science of apnea but not so much about how to go forward with it to achieve the desired results. Of course, I'm speaking...

Re: After your initial diagnosis did you get to meet w/a Dr.?
Yet you are not happy with the treatment? Huh?, Not at all, in fact I went out of my way to complement them. So that didn't work out to well Simply found it strange I never saw a Doc or PA, just techs with a 2 year degree. Wanted to see if that was normal. I'm always so grateful for that VA benefit...

Re: After your initial diagnosis did you get to meet w/a Dr.?
I've received 3 replies so far all contain good info, so thanks. But....not one answers my question - Did any of you meet with a Doctor specializing in sleep after initially being diagnosed? - Is it normal to be well into CPAP therapy and never meet with a MD specializing in sleep? - Did anyone go o...

After your initial diagnosis did you get to meet w/a Dr.?
What I want to know is, after referral from your primary care dr. or employer was your first encounter with a doctor specializing in sleep or a tech to fit you with the sleep study gear? Did you see a doctor right after the study or just go straight to getting the CPAP from a tech? Anybody out there...

Re: New to CPAP basic questions
As it relates to the requirement for effectiveness, your all over the place. Clearly you made a broad, probably erroneous statement and no matter how many snide replies follow, the record of your statement and what it implies stands. 1. First you state "I never heard of a job requirement to show ef...

Re: So far, not impressed with this cpap stuff
Hi there I don't mean to discourage you further but from one Newbie to another I can relate. I was diagnosed with a "mild" case (7.1 AHI mild oxygen desat) was not tired in the least and really felt fine. Now, almost 3 weeks into using my CPAP I am exhausted, disgusted and irritable. On a good night...

Re: New to CPAP basic questions
But, I never heard of a job requirement to show effectiveness. Then what did you mean specifically from the above statement? I took it to mean that as long as your complying with the prescribed CPAP therapy and use then the reviewing agency isn't concerned with effectiveness, ie "not a requirement ...

Re: noobie first post
One more question. When the tech was reviewing my Sleep Test, he said I had one event where I didn't breathe for 96 seconds. That sounds like a very long time to hold your breathe. Is that common or even possible? Common. Gramps first sleep study - he had many apneas over 90 seconds long and coming...

Re: noobie first post
Thank you! As far as what the tech meant by 96, I don't know. Did he also mention what your O2 level was? But is it possible to not breath for that long? Think of under water training and how long some people can hold their breath. If you don.t have a copy of your Sleep Study and prescription get on...

Re: noobie first post
If you click on the events tab, it will give you the ability to see every event and the length of the event. Yes and this may be the easier way to see individual events. The events tab is above the AHI bar. You can also click on the colored bars on the left. When you see the individual events liste...
