Need DIY water damage repairing help
I made the mistake of cleaning the air hose with water and apparently not drying it properly, for when I used it on the machine next time, it stopped working and started displaying a message 'Service needed'. I have waited for several days to see if it gets resolved on its own, but it doesn't. Attac...

Re: Why does it say major mask leakage for 95% leak rate at 16?
Yes, I use a Respironics. Thanks for clarifying.

Why does it say major mask leakage for 95% leak rate at 16?
Please see attached screenshot. Why does it say on the SleepyHead's welcome screen that I had significant periods of major mask leakage when the 95% leak rate is only 16?

Re: AHIs when awake
I asked something new but it got drowned. My question is if you don't sleep through an apnea event how can you tell whether it was a real sleep apnea event or not, as we have noticed that the machine records events even when awake, so you might have woken up and then a false event got recorded.

Re: AHIs when awake
This presents a complication to one suffering from multiple awakenings to determine their cause. Is a real apnea causing the awakening or an awakening due to some undiagnosed problem falsely recorded by the machine as an apnea?

Re: Increased heart rate when using CPAP
I changed my C-flex to 'off' and found I did much better without it. The C-flex algorithm has a tendency to make my breathing race. I would wake up in the middle of the night breathing like I was in a marathon because my body automatically tried to match the pattern of the c-flex. Unfortunately, th...

Re: AHI consistently high after starting to use nasal pillow
Yesterday I raised the min pressure to 12 and the AHI went upward with it to 10.7. This always happens with me. You went from 9 to 12 minimum? That's a pretty big jump. If the increase in the AHI was in the Clear Airway category, I would talk to your doctor. Especially since they did not use CPAP i...

Re: AHI consistently high after staring using nasal pillow
Unfortunately it is a bit difficult to ascertain asleep breathing from awake/semi awake breathing on the data that the machines gather. Some people are good at zooming in on the breath by breath air flow and can get it figured out for the most part. It would require your learning about what each br...

Re: AHI consistently high after starting to use nasal pillow
Try to embed the image instead of using a link...my internet doesn't do those links very well. See above thread for what I mean about embedding. About your AHI...it looks like roughly 1/2 of it is Clear Airway....are you spending much time awake during the night with the mask/machine on? Do you tak...

Re: AHI consistently high after staring using nasal pillow
What make and model of machine are you using? Do you have a screen shot of when you were using the FF mask? On your sleep study what was the AHI categories that made up your 11 total? Philips Respironics REM star auto A-flex. I don't have the screenshot for when I was using the FF/nasal mask becaus...

AHI consistently high after starting to use nasal pillow
My sleep study had shown a mild AHI of 11.0. I started with full face mask and the AHI shown was 1 to 3 generally. I switched to nasal pillow because there would be unfixable leak of air hitting the eye in the middle of the night every night. Ever since I started using the nasal pillow I could not s...

Re: Woke up with CPAP breathing deep, heavy & fatigued.
I have yet to install the graph software and see my graphs. I think I found the reason for the hyperventilation. I'm normally a back sleeper but after reading stuff on the internet I have recently been trying to sleep on my side. Somehow this is not ok for my body. Today I noticed that during the si...

Re: Woke up with CPAP breathing deep, heavy & fatigued.
Hi, please don't listen to Buteyko anything... their reasoning and ideas about breathing are just wrong and will not help you. We would like to help, however, but need information - what machine (full name and model please) are you using? At what pressure settings? And which mask? Are you using sof...
