Re: Treating SA with Weight Loss?
I have been all but assured my OSA will disappear as I lose weight. I am very doubtful. I grew up not knowing it was strange that my parents had their own bedrooms because they both snored so horribly! And neither were overweight. I'm also 90% sure it's why my Mum dropped dead at 57 for seemingly no...

Re: Colonoscopy and Apnea
Hi there - I asked virtually the same question! They were happy I had it with me but it didn't get used. I would bring it again in the future 'just in case' I needed to stay longer. I would say if you're sleepy afterwards use it. I had a horrible woozy spell when I got up and it was accounted to low...

Re: Day Surgery & CPAP
Hi All, In case anyone is wondering, we took it with us and promptly left it in the car! The anaesthesiologists nurse said to leave it there and for my husband to just go grab it if I needed to stay for some reason. In future I would continue to bring it with me 'just in case' in the same way I woul...

Re: Day Surgery & CPAP
Thanks everyone! Very much appreciated. Unfortunately I wasn't able to ask them as they aren't available today due to it being a public holiday and my admission time tomorrow is before business hours. Otherwise I would have. Thanks again, you guys are amazing. This type of question is better asked ...

Re: Week 3 & suddenly struggling
When you get the chance put your equipment in your profile then it will show in each of your posts. Here is a link to show you how. http://www.cpaptalk.com/wiki/index.php/Registering_Equipment_in_User_Profile Thanks all done. I had thought I would wait until I had my own setup purchased but I can s...

Re: Week 3 & suddenly struggling
I have a ResMed Autoset 10, the settings look like they're on 5-15. It starts on 4 and the average is 9. I don't think humidity is the issue, it's a dry summer here and it's been really nice having some moisture. It's on an automatic setting for that too. The good news is yesterday I got really tire...

Day Surgery & CPAP
Hi All, I'm going in for a day surgery procedure tomorrow, it's just twilight sedation. The hospital admission forms say to bring your CPAP machine with you if you have one, but they're generic forms for all kinds of surgery. So, does anyone know if that's just if you're staying in overnight or if i...

Week 3 & suddenly struggling
Hi All, I had a great first two weeks of CPAP. At the one week check in the technician said my results were 'as close to perfect as possible' and didn't change any settings. Then all of a sudden a couple days ago I became hyper aware of the sound of my exhale and I just couldn't stand it. At the sam...

Sore nose - nasal pillow mask
Hi all, Any tips for preventing irritated skin just under the nostrils with a nasal pillow mask? I'm only a few days in and so far so good, just noticing the skin is a bit irritated under my nostrils in the morning. Is this indicacative of a fit issue? If not, I'd love your suggestions for symptomat...

Re: Sleep hour result incorrect
Thanks all. The good news is that I got a full 8.5 hour reading from last night, with an AHI score of 1.5, and smiley faces against humidifier and mask leaks. The even better news is i fell asleep pretty easily and slept through the night. If it happens again I'll look at switching the auto-off sett...

Re: Sleep hour result incorrect
Hi All,
So curiosity got the better of me and I used the instructions to get into the clinical menu. Unfortunately there was no time zone error, just a recording of only a couple hours! Frustrating to say the least. Hopefully it goes better tonight!

Re: Sleep hour result incorrect
Thanks for the replies! I've checked the machine and it's an AirSense 10 Autoset. My husband called the centre and they said that sometimes when using the 'auto on' it then switches itself on and off through the night.... a bit disappointing to hear after a difficult night, thinking I was at least d...
