Any success stories of beating sleep apnea by losing weight?
I gained some weight over the summer and I think it has exacerbated my sleep apnea. I am not losing weight and hoping that will make a big difference. Have any of you over come your sleep apnea or reduced it by losing weight? Thanks!

Re: Not just sleep apnea...
This is not medical advice but meds are not the answer in my opinion. Switching to a healthier diet has shown to improve thyroid function. Examine what you're eating first. Not to mention people tend to sleep much better when they eat better. A vegan lifestyle has many proven benefits, also eliminat...

Looking For Used Nasal Pillows Mask
I'm looking for used Nasal Pillows, preferably Swift FX or Air Fit P10. Not trying to spend much money. I have the Dreamwear Mask which I used literally only 1 night so it's still like new if anyone would be interested in swapping. If anyone has a set they'd be willing to get rid of or can direct me...

Re: F&P Simplus mask cushion - weird noise from vent holes
I'm having the same exact issue. I just got my Simplus mask a few days ago. I have only used it twice and it also makes the whistling sound. It's very annoying and hard to sleep. When I tried the one at my DME I didn't hear it. I ordered mine from CPAP.com. So is it just a defective mask then?

Re: Eight months in and looking for help
For nasal congestion you should do the NeilMed Sinus Rinse or even Navage which is a little machine that suctions out mucus for you. It may help clear your nasal passages so you can breathe easier.

Re: Is It OK to Adjust My Own Pressure?
I started with the 8 CPAP pressure they suggested. There were some points in the night I feel I could've used higher pressure. I had the latest titration on Thanksgiving but I haven't resumed using the machine until last night. I guess for the next few nights I can stick with 8 and then changed to a...

Re: Diet questions for CPAP users
I remember reading a comment from a girl that said when she would eat grains her CPAP wouldn't work well but when she didn't eat them her CPAP worked better. I've also been hearing tons of good things about a raw food diet so I am going to try a 30 day challenge and see how I feel. I think everythin...

Is It OK to Adjust My Own Pressure?
The original machine my DME provider gave me was a brick. I paid out of pocket for a brand new Airsense 10 Autoset so I could use Sleepyhead. I took it in today to have clinician look at it. She said she programmed it to CPAP mode with a pressure of 8 which is what my 3rd titration showed to be idea...

Re: Anyone Sleep Better With Nasal Flushing?
I have both Neti Pot and the Sinus Rinse. I'll see which one is better. I'll probably hold off on buying Navage. Not sure if it's worth the money just yet. But I am going to have to get in the habit of flushing my nose every day.

Re: Moving forward on your own
I got tired of playing grab ass with my doctor and the insurance company so I went and got my own Auto CPAP on craigslist. Using software like Sleepyhead I just monitor my progress and make adjustments as needed. I have an appointment with my doctor but I am considering cancelling because what's the...

Re: Nasal pillow/nasal mask with chin strap vs full face mask.
I would try and chinstrap first and if that doesn't work then you'd have to go to a full face mask.

Anyone Sleep Better With Nasal Flushing?
I have chronic sinus congestion which is a nuisance for sleeping better. I've used Neti Pot before which helps sometimes but it's kind of a pain to use. I saw something on TV called Navage which looks like an easier device to use. Anyone ever use it and if so do you feel having clear nasal passages ...

Re: ResMed AirFit F20 Full Face Mask
Hi Charles,
I feel the F20 has a better seal but slightly more tight on the nose. The tech was explaining to me that at the bridge of the nose the F20 has more narrow lining to help prevent leaking from above which is what I experienced when I tried the F10. Overall it wasn't bad.

Re: What's The Best Full Face Mask In Your Opinion?
I went to the clinic and had a mask fitting session and I tried several different masks. I laid on the bed and toss and turned to get a good feel for them. I found the Simplus to be very comfortable with very little leaking. I tried on one of their Mirage Quattro masks and realized it was also very ...
