AirSense 10 reached end of life

I believe My AirSense 10 AutoSet has reached the end of it’s life. Filter turns black after only a week, I can’t imagine how this could be an air quality issue. Also the machine no longer turns off on its own, I need to manually shut it off. It has been about 5 years, which I believe means time for ...

Re: Bad sternum pain.

I think you are referring to a condition called “costochondritis”. I have had a few episodes. Feels like ribs are broken and can be quite painful.

Re: Water Chamber OK in Hurricane Dryer?

I use the dryer regularly for hoses, masks and the humidifier chamber. I have found the air is not hot enough to damage equipment. I have been very happy with it, my supplies come out fresh and clean when the cycle is done. The only issue, it does take up storage space. Items just feel cleaner and f...

Re: F20 and Nose

Thank you all for the suggestions. I am going to order that mask, and will try bandaid or pads if there becomes an issue.

F20 and Nose

HI, anyone out there who has had nose bridge sores in the past with other FFM's use the F20 successfully? I am using the Amara View and like it, but it leaks more than I would prefer. I need to be sure the Amara is the one for me, but not at the expense of the little money I have; and going to work ...

Re: Amara View, good or bad

I am using the Amara View. I have preferred it over other FFM styles. The good: no sores on my nose The bad: leaks, and sometimes the strap that sits on upper lip under the nose feels suffocating, even though air is getting through properly. I definitely suggest trying it out if you have a chance.

Re: Just couldn't take it last night!!

Totally agree, new folks need time to analyze and determine best options for masks.
It is not made clear from DMEs and Sleep Docs how to try a variety of masks and make a choice without paying a heavy price.

Re: Beginning CPAP again.

Your story sounds identical to mine. A few years back, I noticed feeling tired alot, went to my primary, and was sent for a sleep study. Well, I was diagnosed with apnea, and given a machine and mask. Over time, I grew flustere, my DME kept delivering the wrong cushions. Additionally when I tried to...

Re: Help me get back in the routine of cpap...

I had a sleep study done 6 years ago but abandoned treatment for quite a while. I went back to the sleep specialist in December and was able to get set up with a new machine and did not need another sleep study. There was some concern that the study was done over 5 years, but all worked out in the e...

Re: Insurance Question - rental and charge for machine

Yes, thank you great suggestion - I will check with both insurance and DME I forgot the first time around time having the most painful experience with the DME - they were mailing me the wrong cushions and masks, loosing appointments, etc. I remember giving up and paying OOP at cpap.com and then subm...

Insurance Question - rental and charge for machine

I was prescribed CPAP about 6 years ago. Long story short, I stopped using the machine for a long time for a variety of excuses. I went back to my sleep doc in December and was set up with all new equipment, and am back on track again. I just got my first bill from the DME after going through insura...
