Re: Dreamstation Users: Troubleshooting Help in Europe

--no device alerts (or alerts of any kind) -- is there a screen where I can check if I somehow missed them? Device Alerts are pop-ups on the lcd screen. Some also include an audible beep and/or blinking Power LED light. "Status" alerts timeout after 30 seconds and the pop-up screen disappears. Othe...

Re: Dreamstation Users: Troubleshooting Help in Europe

Did you double check that the humidifier is fully secured to the xpap unit? There are two adjustments that affect the humidification: the humidifier and the heated tubing. The blower has to be turned on for the screen to show the settings (and to change them). You mention that you have the Heated Tu...

Re: 3 weeks in and miserable

I'm a year in with therapy. I had a fairly easy adaptation to using the equipment. The mask I chose has been pretty successful, and I got a lot of information and ideas from reading this forum. I had a few weeks where leg cramps were regular, painful and annoying as I had not had any for years. It t...

Re: Supplies

Welcome to the forum. Regarding cleaning of equipment: As a starting point, read your user manual to see what the manufacturer recommends. In practical terms, there may be as many kinds of cleaning habit as there are members of this forum; some wash, some don't. Some washers are detailed and precise...

Re: Newb with bad first night results

I did see on here before that putting your tongue against your top front teeth can fix this, and it helped, but I could still feel some air trying to leak into my mouth. I'm not sure from your post if the back part of your tongue was up against the roof of your mouth (like when pronouncing a 'k' so...

That's very interesting. I've used accupressure to aid in relieving headaches; never considered it could help hiccups, but then I rarely get them.

Madalot, if you try that technique, could you let us know your experience with it?

Re: Amara and no heat, dry mouth

You could try using a hose cozy on just the short hose, covering the connection to heated hose but not covering the vent holes. That's what I'm doing this fall. Last year when I began CPAP, I didn't seem to need it; but it has been helpful for this last week or so. Ambient temperatures are likely di...

In some cases, even doing that wouldn't help.

Re: At Wits' End

That is a symptom of untreated sleep apnea. I've heard that in the past few days (reading others' posts) but for me, it's a symptom of a middle-aged woman who has had 3 children bounce on her bladder for nine months. I don't know many older women who don't have to get up in the middle of the night ...

Re: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Saturday night through Sunday morning, managed to sleep 9 hours with the Amara View on. Woke up feeling ever so slightly better than usual. That's good news. Good for you! It's those subtle positive changes building over time that leads to therapy success. Keep doing whatever you did that night, so...

Re: Did your Dreamstation wifi card come with unit?

I am sure the Dr will have no idea what Sleepyhead is and will want it on their system in the office. What do you mean by this? It sounds like you are saying the doc will want Sleepyhead to use in the office. I read it as meaning that "the Dr will . . .want the sleep information on their system in ...

Re: Did your Dreamstation wifi card come with unit?

Mine came with both a cellular modem--it's a small white box inserted in the left side of the machine, not a card (to transmit data to the DME)--and the SD card for data storage. I did not receive a wifi card.

Re: Wisp cushion compatible with Pico

Wisp and Pico are made by the same manufacturer -- Philips Respironics. The style of the cushions is the same; however, the connecting rings to the mask (where the hose clips on) are different.
